His grandparents had passed four days ago and honestly it was four of the longest days but the rush of people coming in and leaving their condolences and such was over. There was so much food that he had no idea who they expected to eat it all and one of their friends had said that they would finish up everything for the funeral to which Graysen was grateful because that allowed for him to focus on the other thing that had been dropped in his lap by ways of his backyard. It seemed Rubik was still hanging around with her broken fingers and diva attitude still out as well. He just brushed it off and did the nice thing by leaving her food and expecting her to wash her own dishes. The first two days went by fast but as the people began to dwindle out over the last two, Graysen actually had time to notice that he did not think that Rubik was actually getting out of bed. The food was gone that much was true but that camper could have held wild animals in it as far as he knew. However in the middle of the people she had left her ever so precious bag in the house and Graysen had went through it. It was on his property so he felt like he had every right. He had even took the time to stack the rings of the color coordinated toy and honestly it had kept him from crying and helped to settle his anger over the deaths that had occurred lately and that had confused him but he did not think about it. Two days later he was still playing with it to keep his anger at bay but then he realized it would be rude to let his company just up and sulk in the pity of not being able to use her hands. He got up and went and knocked on the camper door. "Rubik, let me in." He stood back and gave thought to kicking the camper door in but let it go so he just begin to walk around it. The amount of pink and glitter that came out to his eyes made him wish that he was blind. He finally found a window and looked in as he tapped along it. "I can smell the alcohol," he said as he tapped again then he remembered that modern problems required modern solutions. "Be right back," he said as he made his way to the house and then found his bat. He went straight towards the window and slammed the bat into it watching as the glass went everywhere. He looked around and sighed. "Get up, I'm angry and I can't handle it." He was emotional plus one and he was even more upset that the only thing that calmed him down was a child's toy. "I was borrowing your pole thing with the bright color rings and I was okay then but it's yours and I didn't want to break it so I guess smashing the window seemed like the next best thing to do." He looked around the camper and then down at her as he leaned against the wall and let his bat fall. "How long does anger last do you think?" Decipher Nottingham

Hungover. Majorly Hungover. The people had come in what she had considered to be flocks and she had properly taken the time to give so much space that she had went back to see her aunt and then came back, camper included. Then she had drunk some of her brother's test beers and wine and then went out and got some good wine and proceeded to get drunk, all with nothing but her feet which was difficult. That combined with the fact that she had hoped to skip over Graysen and his grief made for a less than exciting morning as she turned her head and looked at him. "All would be okay for just a few hours if you'd just get drunk and process it out," she said as she shrugged. "Honestly I don't know because everyone is different and stuff." She tried to hold up her fingers to do the signal for one second when she looked down at her hands. "Both my bird fingers, one thumb, and an index finger." Great. "Have you seen my hair brush and stop playing with my stuff." She finally got to her feet and was glad that she had decided to just sleep in her clothes from the night before. She turned towards the corner mirror and shook her hair out and began to grind her teeth because this was not natural. "My brush?", she asked again as she made her way to the sink to brush her teeth. Once she was done and had splashed a bit of water on her face she spoke. "Anger could last forever I would think. It doesn't make it good but it also doesn't mean it would ever go away but you seem well rounded, so hopefully just a little over a year. I think it's pretty known that you need a year after a death to even get back to some version of yourself." It was going to be the longest year of his life or so she felt and that caused her to look at him. "One day at a time," she said as she tried to smile but the truth was that she hated that saying. "One second at a time I mean and when people ask you how you are, please just understand that they don't know what else to say." She considered him out of touch with people from choosing not to interact with them but she kept that to herself. She made her way back out to him and held up her hands. "Feet over hands, I'm going to.." She had no idea but she knew she wanted to. Unknowingly to him she viewed Graysen as a friend now who took her on strange play dates and dealt with her when she was half hung over off her ass like she was now and that made her want to help. "..hold that thought." She felt the pain go through her hands as she made her way out of the camper and picked up her bag with the heels of her feet and made her way back, carefully stepping up and then letting the bag go outside as she grabbed her hula hoop out of it, keeping it on the heel of her foot. She made her way over to the side with the broken window and yelled through it. "Come out, I can explain it better with the hoop," she said as she used her foot and leg to help get the hoop around her waist as she backed up. She cleared her throat. "Been a while since I did this so don't laugh okay?" Graysen Maddox

He watched her and though he could still smell the alcohol she seemed to be functioning better than he had remembered her functioning the last few times that they had been in the same space or maybe he was so drunk that he did not care. He watched as she left and then came back and he almost jumped out of his skin when she told him, not asked him to come out. He had doubts because it was a pretty attractive woman with a hula hoop. "Yep you got all my attention." He had been doing some looking into the whole toy manipulation with ambidextrous formula. "Can I make a request that you start with your feet since your hands are pretty much out of the picture. It might be best to just pretend that they don't exist but it does not mean that you have to forget about your arms." He went and stood behind her and put his hands on her waist as he spoke. "In baseball it's more about the feet and hips to help the swing of the bat when the pitch comes. I think since you do not have your hands that might help you." He moved his hands from her waist though upon realizing how inappropriate it was and plus he still had the memory of the doctor referring to her as his daughter. He went and stood in front of her and spread his own feet apart. "Put your feet like mine and see if you can get comfortable like that. It might help if you take your shoes off." He needed to take some of her height off to make himself feel better. "There is also the option of hopping through the hula hoop while you hold it but that would require you using your fingers and I don't think that would be a good idea right now but something to hold onto for future reference." He wondered if this would be like watching belly dancers. "So where are you thinking we should go because you know I could do the driving right?" Decipher Nottingham

She was slowly starting to sober up when she smelled Graysen behind her. She really needed to ask him what he did to get that musk smell because it was rough but it seemed to smell nice to her too which she hated because he was so short. "Right feet only." She was talking at this point to keep herself focused but she was truly listening and she was a little sad when he left but she kept her steel resolve of a face on as she began with her feet. She looked down at them amazed at how easily it came to her. "This is the most that I have ever used my feet that isn't walking," she said as she worked the hula hoop up to her legs and then her waist, then putting her feet as Graysen had asked her too. She almost lost her balance when he asked her about leaving and offered to drive. She took her shoes off as she gave it thought. "Uhm, I always drive Graysen." No way was she going to let him drive. She slowly used her feet and hips to make her way towards him as she let the hula hoop fall onto the ground as she realized how close she was to him this time. "If you can out hula hoop me you can drive." She had met many men, slept with none of them though and yet the one thing that they seemed to have in common was that none of them could out hula hoop her. She smiled at him. "Good to see that at least for the moment you seem to be feeling better." She did not want him to dive into depression. "Up for the challenge?", she said as she pressed against him. "I'm nowhere near as hungover as I was two minutes ago so stop flirting with me and thinking that I don't notice." She could not and more than that would not be domesticated. "I'd hate to have my way with you and then toss you to the side. I can read you like a book baby and right now you're screaming full time commitment and I'm not into that." There was her cockiness that she loved so much. "Plus you're still short even with my shoes off." Graysen Maddox

He looked at her movements but unlike anyone else that she had came across he was okay with it. It was true that women were to be appreciated but women like her, appreciation came naturally because most men would just fall over and give her want because she was beyond pretty but not him. He laughed at her when she suggested him out hula hooping her. "I don't stand a chance with that thing but if you can out baseball me then we can talk." As much as she talked about him being easy to read she was too. "I'm easy to read because I'm not trying to hide anything from you. I don't have a reason too and you like it." He gave her a glance over. "Flirting is fun and even natural but okay. I'm not screaming anything that's what you want me to be screaming and want my validation of it being true but since it's not I can't give it to you. I am going to be one hundred percent honest with you though so that we don't receive any confusion. I found you very attractive, I think that's why I was playing with your toys because while it did help me with my grief it also made me feel like there was something about you in them or spending time with them. Rubik I do want to get to know you but the desire to sleep with you fell once that doctor thought you were my daughter." The desire in fact had not but he was not telling her that. "In it's own way you breaking your fingers got us exactly where we need to be. On an even playing field where neither one of us has to worry about the other one getting cold feet about anything. Just for the record I did find you attractive until the whole daughter comment, now you just look like any other woman off the street." He sighed. "Alright try it with one foot and still no hands." "Baseball is lame," she said after she had time to take in what he said. He had no desire for her, well that was not quite how he had worded it but that was what she had heard. It hurt a little bit to hear that she was in the same space of someone who did not find her just a little desirable because that had never happened to her in all of her years of being on this plane most considered to be earth. "You are the first person to turn me down." Her voice came out a little more cracked than she intended but she quickly cleared it. It was not like she had gotten drunk and asked but it had been implied. However his little revelation had sobered her up quickly and she began to turn the hoop with one foot as she removed the splints from her fingers. "I am not a fan of this side of your Graysen." Had the death of his grandparents made his asshole side appear. She was a little disappointed that she felt so bothered by it. "However no desire for you means that you are going to get your wish." No desire was great. "First I need to lay down the rules though so that we do not forget them. You can drive but I pick where we go." She thought that the driving might help him get through his denial and anger. "I would need to change into something a little more appropriate first because a journey like you seem to eager to go on requires me to be in white." Elevation of yourself was the best way to get the self confidence that you needed. "Last but most important you carry my bag." She picked the hoop up with her fingers and flinched. "Broken fingers mean I can not carry it you know." Fuck Graysen for telling her that she was not desirable. She pushed her hair back and let her hoop drop. "That was a bitch move by the way, trying to play to my ego. I was not aware that we were playing such a dirty game." That was okay. "Come on the lesser version of my daddy, we need to make sure that we have everything gathered." Graysen Maddox

Lame? He doubted that she thought that baseball was lame she was just trying to hurt his feelings. That was fine with the way that he was acting he had expected a little back and forth and to know that he was the first person to turn her down he took delight in that. "I'm glad I could be the first at something that does not allow you to get your way." It was one thing to want to get your way if you had reasons to back it up, it was a complete different thing to just expect it. He started to say something when she started admitting defeat by saying that she was going to let him drive. "That's fine with me, I have not been outside of Idaho in the last few years so anywhere that you can pick will be absolutely exciting to me." He thought that maybe he was more thrilled than her and he could tell that was a first. "Look at you learning to let someone else take some control. I'm proud of you." Though he was angry and confused at the thought he spoke. "I'm not trying to play your ego I just believe in honesty and I'm not the lesser version of your father. I doubt that I'm anything like him which is why you fight me so hard on everything that I suggest." Except he marked down how she seemed to give in a little too easy on thoughts of the driving. "So after I grab your bags where are we headed?" Decipher Nottingham

"Are you serious?" She felt like she could strip Graysen with her words and he'd still hang in there. What the hell was this well she did not quite know but she knew that she kind of liked it. "There's a brewery that I want to go check out in Maine." As if she would pick anything else plus she was sure once they made the drive she would need to be drunk off of her ass to deal with whatever happened. "I need to add one more rule though and that is after you have driven across a state line we need to stop and rest. There will be no need to rent out a hotel room because the camper comes with everything. Food, power, etc. It even has two bathrooms because I do not know you well enough to share a bathroom with you and if I did, I doubt we would ever get that close." She was still upset with him so she would never share anything with him. "As for food while it is available in the camper it is up to you to prepare your own food. Also while you are gathering my bags I need to go gather my outfit." If he thought that she was doing this in any other way then he was not as smart as it seemed under neath. "Also, you are going to need something white." It was time and though she was excited for it she put that face of stone to work and spoke. "Look this is a process and I do not expect for you to understand it but this is the quietest and the most thoughtful that you will see me. It's like if their is any good in me, it's when I get down and nomad with people though I suppose the first step would be admitting that it's been a minute since I have even done that." She turned back towards her camper as she held her hands up and looked at her fingers. "They might be broken but at least they are still beautiful. I should be ready by the time you get back with my bags." She should send a text to her aunt and mom at least. She decided to go with @parker first. "Headed to Maine, be back eventually." She tucked her lip in. "I need to get Graysen's number, I just don't need to sound desperate." It was for contact reasons of course. Graysen Maddox

Wow but he did not mind rules and while he thought that his might be a little more strict if he owned something as loved as much as it seemed that she did her camper then no one would ever get in it but he did recall that when they first met she had others in it. They were her brother and sister and he was not but maybe she did not mind it as much. He grabbed her bag and decided to take it out first. "I'm going to put it in the back," he said as he slid carefully beside her. "I need you to open the door you should be able to open it by using your feet." He did not know if she cared about her fingers and if she bruised them anymore than they were but he did. Broken fingers while not a great travesty were a little bit of a damper. He threw the bag down. "It feels like a ton of bricks to me by the way, no idea how you carry all that around." Sure she had a hell of a figure but it was crazy. "Press your feet against the door and I will put it in for you." He was trying to keep a handle on all of the emotions that were flowing through him and he already knew that she was a lot to handle so he was not trying to let that make him upset anymore than his grandparents death had. "I just want to let you know that as we are traveling if you feel like you need to add anything else to your rules I am game for it. I do not want it to be strange if you feel the need to adapt because while not the best I'm not going to not try if adaptations are necessary." Decipher Nottingham

She shook her head as she opened the door for him to put her bag in with her feet. "I have been carrying that bag since I was seven years old and the only things that have changed in it were the toys. I had to find ones that fit me and as silly as it sounds made me feel safe and once I did they never changed. Well the actual toy never changed but if I broke one I had to get another one and so on." She liked talking to him because she could keep her sass and he did not seem to mind and even now as she had hurt feelings Graysen still seemed to have an easy element to him. She pulled her feet back in and spoke as she shook her head. "Well I will get the awkward part right out the way and say that I am going to let you sleep on my bed. I like to camp, well rough it I think is a better phrase so I will sleep on the floor when we stop to rest." The truth was beds were not as comfortable to her as the ground and she was sure that it was something to do with her childhood but she did not want to get into that right now. "You ever tossed a beer back with your buddies after a win on the baseball field?" She would love to have a drinking buddy. "I mean when we get to the brewery I do not know if i want to drink alone is all." She felt like she was going to become a slouch and though he was short she hoped that he could hold her up. "I only also ask because after I do an excellent nomad experience I usually get so drunk that I have a two or three day hang over and that is what I plan to give you." She went to go hold up her hands out of instinct but quickly stopped thanks to the pain that shot through her fingers. She swallowed and growled all in one swift motion. "With my feet since I have broken fingers." She pulled her feet back out. "How odd is it going to be when I pop a can of brew open with these toes? I guess I might as well say good bye to these white tips on my toes and that makes me truly sad." Graysen Maddox
