A HERO://@silver
Reggie was slow to get up the blow he received he was sure left him with a concussion, he heard Tim but barely as the ringing in his ears was loud almost steady like being trapped inside a large industrial sized fan. He wasn't sure what he used to get up but everything they had brought into the room that was metal would suddenly lift into the air, he pulled the lead to himself creating a swirling tornado around himself to protect from whatever Tim said he needed protecting from.
The rest of the metal was doing the same as the lead but in a much more widespread and violent way, it would hopefully protect them both as Reggie found his bearings. However he also attempted to pull the collapsed staff from the person who hit him. Reggie was going to smack that person just as hard and just as fast! ===================================
@savage:\\ A VILLAIN
Savage could see Viper's mouth moving, but he heard nothing. Zilch. Nada! The big cat didn't like this at all however he could smell two distinct things in the room the Colonel and Viper, and it took a second but his eyes quickly adjusted to the darkness. He tapped Viper on the shoulder in the darkness tracking the scent of Colonel he could only predict where the man was so he grabbed Viper by the shoulder and his back hoping the man didn't mind being cannon balled towards the Colonel! He launched Viper in the general assumed direction...

Kieran had just grabbed the charges from Caleb. Had just wrapped his fingers around them only to be shoved to the ground just as the sound of something flying passed his ears. As his body hit the ground, the air was forced out of him and he only barely registered the darts hitting the wall right by them. Gasping, he struggled to return the rhythm of his breathing to normal as the wind had truly been knocked out of him. Instinctively and protectively, he had wrapped his arms around Caleb, and pulled him tightly to his chest. Quickly, he dropped the very arms that had rushed to envelope his field leader, flinching underneath his mask. Just as he loosened his grasp on him did Caleb roll off. Kieran regained his composure, following onto his own two feet. Calmly, he adjusted his robes, watching as Caleb tossed back the man's own darts.
Kieran didn't say a word as he approached Caleb, closing the already short gap between them with a stride, placing a firm hand on his shoulder. He gave it a squeeze, and he hoped it properly conveyed the message he wanted to send without giving anything off to their new friend. Kieran would split off, leaving Caleb to deal with the Aegis agent. He had no doubt that Caleb could take on this threat by himself, and he felt like it was more wise to place the charges while Caleb distracted and took down the other man. He'd seen the other Cabal member in combat, and he was more than proficient. Kieran didn't look back as he darted for the door and ran out in search of key places to set the charges he had clutched in his hands. A disciple of Shaolin martial arts, he knew he was more than capable of taking care of any threats he ran into along the way. He'd link up with Caleb after he dealt with the threat.

Astra listened to Null and nodded, pointedly looking at Nihilo. Her look was withering. She really didn't have time for his attitude right now, she needed to save him! Not have them get captured because he wasn't going to play along! She hoped he would behave. It was with this thought that Null said "Decking's allowed." And she couldn't help but think. With pleasure!Turning on a dime, she reeled back quickly and punched Nihilo on the side of his face, if it hit, then turned, and walked up to Null, ready to follow him. That's when Null opened the cell door to the other occupant within the room... She didn't know the woman, personally. She hadn't even read up enough of Aegis to know who she really was. So, she looked at her curiously, then smiled when Null asked if she were ready to "kick some ass and get out of here", she honestly felt that way, but, she seemed less than pleased about having her powers nullified... Astra had to admit, it was... Odd, not having her powers, and she felt a lot less able to defend herself, but, it wasn't so bad... She remembered having no powers at all for the greater part of her life to be honest. She outright laughed quietly at her statement to Nihilo though and didn't turn to look at him to see how badly he was burned by it, and kept her attention where it was needed. Nihilo

ALICE Alice wasn't about to let this go lying down. She'd already pieced together a few things. This guy was likely there to be the second prong of what was referred to in chess as a "fork." Threatening two pieces at one time, with no way to save both. Alice knew there was stuff happening at Aegis right now, but she had to trust that the heroes there could handle it. They could do things out there, they couldn't really help here in the digital realm. Alice split her instances once the server was back up and the connections reestablished. Not as many as last time, but enough. Some of her began dismantling the connection, attacking it with everything she had in her security arsenal. One of her, one sacrificial martyr instance, put the finishing touches on a wonderful little present she was going to ride back to this hacker's source through however many VPNs and dummy accounts it took. Called a power surge. She grabbed the bundle of trigger code and charged back down the connection towards the hacker. "Oh I'm bringing the party to you. I don't have anything to prove to you, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to show off. I think your place sounds like a good place to crash." ----------------------------------------------------------- TIMOTHY SMITH ------- SURGE Tim knew he was in trouble when this cowled person got his hands around Tim's neck and slammed him into the wall. Normally, that wouldn't be an issue, he'd just shift the energy shell around him into electricity and shock his assailant off. This new attacker, the one that clearly had some sort of protective instinct for the radioactive guy, was just absorbing it. Tim tried a few different types of energy but they were all absorbed. His mind did two things, almost instantaneously. The first thing it did was immediately start to formulate questions he wanted to ask. How much energy could he absorb? What forms of energy? Did he have to eat/sleep or could he just absorb energy to keep his body powered? The second thing he did was come up with a different plan to get free, before blood-glaive or nuclear man got to Silver. Tim propped his feet against the wall, grabbed his attacker by the shoulders, and used the leverage to launch both himself and his attacker across the room, slamming into the opposite wall. Turnabout was fair play, after all. Having freed himself from the hands around his throat, Surge croaked out "Silver! The guy glowing all shades of green and infraorange is radioactive! If you value a standard number of limbs and/or your fertility keep that lead between you and him!" With that Tim rocketed again toward what he believed to be the biggest threat, the aforementioned guy glowing all shades of green and infraorange. He believed one of his biggest assets was his speed, so hopefully that should knock fallout boy for a loop. As he did, he launched a bolt of electricity at the blood-glaive guy, one that would at least stun most people with a standard physiology. Tim really hoped he had a standard physiology. "Stand down! I don't want anyone to get hurt more than they already are!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- COLONEL JOHN ELSVEN ----- COLONEL This was his element. This was what he had trained for years to do. Colonel moved silently in the dark shadows, looking for his next opportunity to strike. They had gotten a tip that Viper was alive when he attacked some vigilantes at the same time as Bakuhatsu's attacks. The timing was incredibly suspect. Suddenly, Savages eyes were tracking Colonel. That wasn't good. Just as suddenly as Colonel realized that fact, Viper was being flung in the air towards him. He tried to jump out of the way, but was just a second or two too late, and Colonel was knocked to the floor. He felt something gash his arm, he wasn't sure if it was Viper, but he knew he was operating on limited time if it was. Getting back to his feet, he launched another kick at Viper, and grabbed the paperwork he had been working on and threw them up in Savage's face, immediately changing his location afterwards. Judging by what intel they'd gathered on Savage from his few appearances, his nose was what was making him a problem, so Colonel had to take care of it. Hopefully the paperwork provided a decent smokescreen for the heavy award he flung at Savage's sniffer, originally presented to Star Woman. He moved again, but was acutely aware of the blood that was now dripping from his arm. He was going to have to stay a lot more mobile, because he was leaving a trail. --------------------------------------------------------------- BRADLEY ALANS ----- KRACKSHOT Krackshot threw himself backwards, leaning almost impossibly far back, to dodge the darts that were flung back at him. "I'm working on retirement. Just need to take out trash like you first. Surrender before you or your friend get hurt." He didn't have his usual equipment with him. Especially not what he was normally comfortable with; a long rifle, high-powered scope, and several hundred yards of distance. He was going to have to improvise if he was going to disable those charges in time. Moving quickly, he grabbed two objects from the paraphernalia around the lab, a glass beaker and a pencil. The glass beaker he threw toward the man pulling out a combat knife, aiming so it would land under his foot and disrupt his balance. The pencil became a makeshift fletchette and smashed into the fire sprinkler in the ceiling, sending water flying everywhere. Hopefully a decent distraction as he attempted to vault over the attacker through the doorway again, to chase the person running away with the charges. ----------------------------------------------------------- "Good. This was about to be very boring if I didn't at least get toOOF!" And Nihilo was sitting on his ass on the floor. He rubbed his jaw, which had the odd, at least to him, sensation of a bruise forming. He wasn't going to lie to himself, he probably deserved that. And he would also be lying if he said he didn't like the fire she had to do that. Saying nothing, he picked himself off the floor and followed Ryan. He shot Astra a look that was going to be a glare, but ended up being more of a "okay, now we're even." Surprisingly, he couldn't find anything to say while he waited for Ryan to lead them to the extraction point. Ryan Amador

ASSET: AMRIT RAO, MAINFRAME -
She was going to retaliate. He knew it. She was stubborn and prideful. She wasn't going to let his attack slide. He had a feeling she'd even try to follow him back, try to find out where he was. He wasn't sure how well he could stand up to her retaliation but he also knew he had no choice. He needed to remain useful.
He heard her voice and chanced a glance over his shoulder at Perses. The man wore his usual mask, making it impossible to determine whether or not he heard her voice as well, impossible to tell what he was thinking. Amrit admittedly thought that was for the best. There were some thoughts even he never wanted to know. And he had a feeling only he could hear her.
"I look forward to being impressed," he replied and he had a good idea what she was going to try. She was going to try to crash the system he was using. She wasn't subtle about it. He had a feeling she didn't know the meaning of subtlety. If this was an artificial intelligence like was claimed, he thought, then the world had nothing to worry about in regards to their fears of artificial intelligence rising up and replacing them.
He put up a wall in front of her, several walls in fact, more out of curiosity than an actual attempt to stop her. This server held nothing for her to get her hands on and use against the Cabal. He didn't care if she got to it. He wanted to see how she got to it. Would she go through the walls or try to find a way around them? Everything she did told him more and more about her.
"I hope you find me a gracious host," he added, "I would not want your party to be disappointed."
ASSET: SARA AMADOR, TEMPEST - Maintaining the snow storm was easier than creating it. It wasn't too large for her and she wasn't asking it to do too much - Just keep the ice and snow coming. Frankly she thought she had the boring job. Her brothers were all fighting. Ryan was even doing the rescuing. Here she was just was waiting on the roof. The police had made a parameter around the building but none seemed to keen to get too close. They were lazy, she thought. They were far too used to Aegis swooping in and saving the day. Except Aegis just pretended to save the day. It was a smart strategy, in her opinion. Get the police used to being saved, being lax, so that they wouldn't be prepared in the slightest bit once Aegis decided to show its true colors.
"I'm going to have to ask you to get off our roof," a voice said, piquing Sara's interest.
She turned around and saw both Star Woman and Icarus hovering in the air. Star Woman was the closest to her. She thought the rumors were true - her hair did look like it had stars in it. Icarus hovered a few feet back, the glow of his wings reflecting off the ice, the warmth of them steaming against the cold of the storm. Star Woman, she assumed, was the one who had talked to her. And she knew why she was the closest. It was no secret that through her years in Aegis, Star Woman had gotten a reputation for being virtually invulnerable. So far it seemed to take quite a lot to hurt her - possibly more than Sara was capable of.
It made strategic sense that she would place herself closer to the threat than Icarus. But that didn't mean he was safe.
"I quite like it up here," Sara replied, purposefully slipping out of her natural accent and putting on an American one.
Star Woman's feet touched down softly on the roof, barely making a noise, not slipping once on the ice. Sara had the feeling they both thought she was an ice manipulator. She was a bit disappointed, admittedly, at being underestimated.
"I'm not going to ask twice," the older woman stated, a dangerous edge to her voice. She wasn't a Pillar of Aegis for nothing after all.
A light purple glow flickered between Sara's fingers. Something in the sky crackled.
"I think you're going to be a bit busy," she replied, perfectly mimicking that edge. The glow spread to her whole hands. She really hoped the news vans behind the police cars got a shot of this. Before Star Woman could react, her muscles visibly tensing as if she was about to lunge at Sara, the lightning cracked through the sky and struck.
A pained cry tore from Icarus' throat as the lightning struck him faster than he could dodge it. His wings flickered out of existence as he lost consciousness, smoke rising from his body. He went limp and started to fall. Star Woman turned and dove off the roof.
ASSET: JOAN AMADOR, TEMPEST -
Suddenly Surge was off of him. He turned, coming to rest on his knees, eyes following to see that Dorian had Surge. His heart was pounding in his chest and he could feel his powers reacting to that. His hands were glowing as were his eyes, his stomach churned. He to calm down. He tried to push himself to his feet - he needed to make sure Aleksandr was about and didn't need backup - but stumbled and caught himself, hands glowing against the floor.
He registered the weight gone from his hip far too late. A jolt of electricity shot through him and he let out a gasp as the staff hit him, shocking him upon impact like it was programmed to do. The glow started spreading up his arms like an infection. He registered Aleksandr's voice, tried focusing on it to give him something, anything to focus on. He needed to concentrate in order to get his powers under control. He didn't know how much radiation Dorian could absorb, how much Surge could absorb, especially with them locked in battle with each other.
Joan looked up in time to see Dorian get slammed into a wall, hard enough to cause the wall to break and crater. The radiation in the room was starting to become visible to all eyes, whether they could naturally see the energy or not. His heart lurched and he was quickly moving toward Dorian, the world around him in a sort of fog. His body felt heavy with radiation. He could hear Surge talking but the words were blurred - as if he was listening from under water.
He was hit again before he knew what was happening. The force and speed he was hit with did more than throw him off. His body hit the floor again. He felt hands on him, holding him there. His vision turned green. His powers reacted violently. Radiation visibly pooled off him in waves of toxic green. His whole body was glowing and it reacted to his powers as if they were attacking him despite his immunity to their effects. His back arched and he gasped, feeling as if the air was being pulled from his lungs. The glow sunk deeper, embedding in his bones, causing them to glow a darker green, enough to be seen through his skin, his clothes. His nerves felt like they were on fire. His mouth opened and a terrified, pained cry tore from his throat.
He shouldn't have been allowed on this mission. God, he was so afraid.
He had lost control.
ASSET: XANDER AMADOR, FREQUENCY + ARIEL AMADOR, READER -
Ariel got hit with the sound. His back had been turned, his attention on his brother, and he hadn't seen the attack coming. He stumbled, his ears ringing. It took him a second to register the pain. It as sharp, like razors. It told him he'd been cut. Spots on his arms - a little on his back - where the pain surfaced told him that was where he'd been cut. He stored that knowledge away. He had adrenaline thankfully, and he needed to keep moving. He needed to retaliate, keep Harmony on his toes. Except Harmony was suddenly gone, moving, again. That was getting annoying.
Xander registered Harmony coming at him - too fast - oh shit. He brought his arms up, pulling his power with him, to create a sound shield that shot off in a bang! when it was hit. He wasn't sure which of Harmony's attacks hit but he knew enough had hit to feel soreness and throbbing. He also knew his bang! would have gotten his brother's attention. He managed to wrench his legs free. The strength it took to break the sound Harmony had been holding made his head swim. He took a step back.
He threw a blast of sound - an ear piercing shriek - with one hand at Harmony, his other hand reaching to his belt and grabbing his staff. He clicked it, the weapon elongating and sparking with electricity on both ends. Behind Harmony, Ariel had noticed the fight and started darting over, grabbing his own staff and clicking it open. Both brothers lashed out with their staffs at the same time, their goal to trap Harmony between them.
ASSET: SAMUEL JENNINGS, VIPER -
Samuel felt a tap on his shoulder and before he knew it, he was getting thrown. Now it wasn't his first time being thrown but he was fairly certain Savage had thrown him which meant it was probably a good thing and nothing to get pissed about. For now. He collided with something and grabbed on, pushing the venom from his hands through the clothes and into his skin. It was a special concoction that he had created himself, painful and burning with no antidote. A healer could take care of it of course or a doctor could create an antidote - or attempt to - but that all relied on the infected person surviving long enough.
He didn't intend to let that happen.
The kick hit him and then the papers did. He cursed. God, this old man was more irritating than he remembered. Even in such close quarters. He just hoped he'd gotten him. He felt something sticky on his hand - blood possibly. He didn't feel hurt aside from what would most likely become bruises. He grinned to himself and despite knowing that no one could hear him, he snarled, "God bleeds."
ASSET: CALEB VOCLAIN, QUICKSHOT -
Caleb had been very much aware of Kieran's arms, his grasp on him before he'd gotten up. He didn't think much of it - He couldn't think much of it. They were on a mission. He needed to focus. He kept himself in front of Kieran, between him and Krackshot. He felt a hand on his shoulder, felt the squeeze, remembered Kieran had the charges. He knew his new roll. He didn't have to look to know Kieran was going to take care of the charges.
"I think your quips are going with your age," he replied, jumping out of the way to dodge the beaker. He noticed too late that it had been thrown at his feet and not his face. The sprinklers then went off, drenching the room and those within it. He slipped on water but was quick in pursuing Krackshot. Thankfully - and smugly - he had youth on his side. He managed to catch up enough to lash out with his knife, slashing at the back of Krackshot's thigh.
That was when he felt something loop around his throat and was brought to an instant halt before being lurched back by it. The way it squeezed threateningly was all that kept him from attempting to cut it with his knife. He knew very well when he was being threatened and when that threat needed to be taken seriously.
Around his throat was a stem, made large and thick enough it could've been mistaken for a rope except for the lily that adorned it's end. Behind him approached Kahale Salanoa, publicly known as Thorn. It didn't take a genius to figure out Alice was down and naturally the first place someone would have checked would have been Tim's lab to see if he was aware of it. So naturally that was what had brought Kahale here. His eyes were on Kieran, though, narrowed.
"Drop the charges," he ordered, recognizing a bomb when he saw one. He held his hand up and closed his fingers into a fist. The stem tightened its grip. Caleb visibly stiffened. Those in Aegis would have known that Kahale was far too kind, far too soft to ever take a life. But the two Cabal agents had no way of knowing that, and the hero was clearly going to use that to his advantage. "Slide them to Krackshot and your friend gets to keep his head."
ASSET: RYAN AMADOR, NULL -
Ryan heard what he very much thought was a slap - perhaps a punch, there was a difference between the two - but knowing Astraica and Nihilo were the only ones behind him, he decided not to ask. He noticed enough that Astraica didn't seem harmed so it must have been Nihilo and honestly, he had probably asked for it. He turned to Avery.
"You're welcome to step out of my field," he replied, not coldly but matter-of-factly. "If you need to use your powers. Hopefully this doesn't take too long." In all honesty, he didn't know how long it'd take for them to get extracted. He couldn't help smirking behind his mask at her comment toward Nihilo. She had a point and he certainly wasn't going to argue that. He was also thankful that Nihilo didn't seem to argue either for once. It made focusing on the mission easier.
He gave a nod in the direction of the hall to let them know they needed to follow him. They'd made it almost down the whole hall, toward a door when someone came through it. And they did so in a literal sense, phasing through the door in full costume. Abraham Bishop, the Phantom, glared from behind his mask.
"Now where do you think you're going?" he asked in a voice that made it clear he had no desire to know the answer. He was going to attack soon if they didn't.

ASSET: DORIAN CROFT, WARLOCK -
Every drop of energy that Dorian siphoned mercilessly from his captive was an assault to him; like gorging on stagnant water, coppery with far too much iron. That didn't stop him, though. The strength of the Aegis against clutched in his hand was apparent, and it took all of Dorian's augmented physiology to hold him still. The Warlock had little doubt he would keep his prisoner pinned, and was wondering if he should choke him into unconsciousness or let him remain there, cognizant and helpless.
Joan's discordant emotions nagged at the back of his skull. Dorian at once decided to knock the Aegis agent out so he could get to his charge. Then came a spike of pain, lancing down the empathic bond that had been forged diamond-strong between Dorian and Joan over the past weeks. He gasped, turned to look over his shoulder at Joan, and Dorian's fledgling worry spread like a wildfire: Joan's powers were spiraling beyond his ability to control.
That distraction was all the Aegis agent under his palm needed. Dorian realized too late the shuffle of weight as his captive put his feet to the wall for leverage. The room bled past him in streaks of color that ended with a tremendous impact thudding into his entire backside. Dorian's breath rasped from his mouth, knocked clean out of his lungs and he would've crumpled forward onto hands and knees if not for the crater his body had rammed into the wall.
Dorian waded through his pain and disorientation. The tumult in the room was distant and nonsensical to him. All that burned in Dorian's mind was Joan: his emotions and the quickly mounting radiation spiking in the room, fast approaching a critical state. Dorian shook his head, forcing his lungs to expand and contract again. There was Joan, in the center of the room, accosted by Surge. Metal and minerals raged in an unseen maelstrom, circling the chamber.
Dorian rocketed forward, ignoring the detritus that pelted him as he went, and threw his shoulder into Surge with all the strength and speed at his disposal to send the Aegis agent away from Joan. He reached up, tore off his cowl and pulled Joan into his arms, cradling him. He'd never been forced to ingest so much power before, but Joan was given over to fear and his powers were prepared to raze half of Astaria.
The Warlock's eyes flooded with scarlet light. They moved past his irises, filling his sclera and pupils. Dorian pulled on more than Joan's radiation, too. He opened the floodgates on his terror, letting it rush into him like a solar flare, heedless of what effects might happen to him. Dorian's veins began to stand out black in the skin of his face. A corona of burgundy light suffused the air around him, mingling with the noxious jade hue of Joan's ravenous energy signature.
"We need to retreat," Dorian said to Aleksandr, and his voice was multilayered and otherworldly, warbling through the micro-storm of his and Joan's powers, "now!"

Aleksandr saw Silver try to grab his glaive, but he wasn't worried. He made his glaive liquid where Silver tried to touch it, and then swung the glaive somewhere else and reformed it. It was a simple matter. He wasn't fighting with a physical weapon after all, so there were some perks of course. Then he heard the goings on with Joan and could feel radiation sickness. He got over it very very quickly, but he still felt it. Normally with his immunity he didn't really feel anything at all. He whipped his head around just in time to see Joan very much in pain, and Dorian trying so hard to help. He heard Dorian's cry to retreat and Aleksandr let the blood forming his glaive just drop and the crimson blood splashed against the floor. The look on Sasha's face was that of dead seriousness as he rushed over to where Dorian was cradling Joan. Fuck Perses and his plans he'd KNOWN this would fucking go wrong and he'd been right.
"Warlock, try to calm down." He used the alias despite his instincts to ignore it and the fact Dorian had taken off his cowl. He clicked into communication.
"We're going to need to evac here we've got a nuclear sized problem here." He wasn't team leader, but hell it needed to be said. Hopefully nobody would get pissed, and the aim of the game had been achieved. He walked next to Dorian and Joan.
"Listen, this is gonna be weird as hell, but you need to trust me. Both of you. Warlock, Fallout, I can help you." He took the pocketknife he'd used earlier and sliced his wrist again. Then he made sure Joan's mouth was open and dripped his blood into the open mouth. Fuck secrecy from Perses. This was confidential that his blood had healing properties but hell.
"You're gonna be okay kiddo. Just focus on our voices. My blood should kick in and help you feel better."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cain Ledger, Harmony, Aegis There was a bang as he hit a shield, but he knew from the reaction from his opponent that something had full on hit. He'd done it to a certain extent. He was getting ready to launch another attack when he noticed he was surrounded by his opponents. The other sound manipulator had managed to wrest control away from Cain's snares unfortunately. He heard the ear piercing shriek sound manipulated by the other sound manipulator, and was glad he usually wore ear plugs of some sort. Unfortunately it still served to very much distract him. And he didn't notice the staffs from either opponent until they surrounded him. Just before they hit him, he let out a banshee scream to try to take them down with him.
"YOU FUCKERS NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM MY HOME!" And with that, he felt the electrical staffs hit him and Cain went down, everything going black.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Avery Castellano, Wildcard
Avery had heard Null's okay for decking, but didn't expect anything to come of it. Then she saw the blonde who had looked...well like a very bubbly person...and she decked Nihilo. Avery started laughing, especially when she saw Nihilo's reaction. She had tears in her eyes from laughing so hard. She wiped them away and pointed at the blonde.
"You. I like you. You're fun." She heard Null's words about stepping out of the field and glanced at Nihilo.
"Right. The nullification field's for him. If we need it, I can step out of it. But honestly I'm pretty sure I'm out of juice. I would have to rely on my martial arts and stuff." God she missed her powers. She hadn't been able to shapeshift into another shape since Morrigan and it bugged the fuck outta her because she loved changing what she looked like. It made her so much more comfortable in her own skin. Then she heard the voice of The Phantom and heard him ask where they going.
"Come on I know you're brighter than that. Where does it LOOK like we're going, Abraham dear? Out of here." Avery laughed, shaking her head with a big shit eating grin on her face.
"Nice catching up with you, but we really ought to be going shouldn't we Null?" Her grin turned into a sickly sweet smile edged with malice. She was ready for a fight if it was needed, but she was fucking not about it. She wanted out of here immediately.

Kieran moved quickly and with graceful ease. Years of training in martial arts left the man extremely physically fit. Alas, he still didn't get far. At first, he did his best to not look behind him. To leave the commotion behind him and not spend a minute even letting worry for Caleb seep in. He knew the man was capable. Oh, he knew it well. But so were the members that belonged to Aegis. One minute he was about to turn a corner and disappear but the sprinklers went off, the water quickly dousing the floor to the point where he momentarily lost his footing. It was just enough to cause him to slip and skid on the floor. Holding on tight to the charges, he was about to bolt up again and continue on his own mission before looking back over his shoulder at the commotion. Caleb was quite literally in a bind.
"Fuck," he cursed in Mandarin, walking back to Caleb but stopping short when he noticed the grip around Caleb's neck grew tighter. He didn't want the two men to get the idea that he was thinking of launching an attack on them only to do something to his leader so he stopped fully in his tracks. He was capable and could put up a fight but he knew that eventually he'd be overtaken. He could only hope Caleb could worm himself free at some point to turn the tide. Kieran didn't use weapons. Occasionally he would equip a staff but today he had nothing but his fists putting him at a rather large disadvantage. Slowly, he set the charges on the floor, his breathing heavy and hot underneath his mask. Nudging the bombs with his foot, he sent them towards Krackshot. Straightening himself, he held his arms up in the air.
"Now let him go." His voice dripped with venom, demanding and surely not asking.

Astra was surprised by Avery's comment! Her eyes went wide, and she didn't know what to say. She couldn't say she enjoyed hitting someone, so she wasn't too impressed, however, it did make her feel a little better about it.
It wasn't until she looked forward and saw a man phasing threw the door that her surprise wore off and she immediately took a fighting stance, having been trained in her little vigilante group at least enough to know to do so. Her eyes narrowed as he spoke and all of her hatred toward their lies and betrayal bubbled forth to the surface.
She heard Avery speak, and she decided to add to it. "Out of your lying, manipulative, betraying hands!" She growled out at the Phantom. "We've been your pawns for long enough!" Though she meant Nihilo more than anyone there, she couldn't help but feel they were all effected by the Aegis group. Her words dripped with venom and the hate she felt, her eyes told no other story. In all of her life she had never been so angry at a person more!
