Double Life
ABILITIES:
Jack: Substance shifting
Jack can take any material and shift it into anything else by changing the molecules that it is made up of. She can also shift herself into any of those materials.
Talon: Vampiric type abilities
Talon isn't a vampire, but her abilities presented like one. She has enhanced speed, strength, hearing, smell, touch, taste and healing. She can also extend claws from her fingers, her fingernails becoming harder and sharper. She can also boost her abilities roughly double by the intake of blood, whether it's her own or someone else's. Talon doesn't mind the metallic taste anymore, even if it's heightened.
SKILLS:
-expansive knowledge of weapons and martial arts
-excellent at improvisation
-she's a mother of twins with monkey tails. She's great at multi-tasking.
WEAKNESSES:
- She's BLIND. No seriously she has to use her substance shifting powers, or the powers of her senses to see. This also means that she's just a regular blind person if her powers are nullified. Even Talon's healing isn't strong enough to reconnect their optic nerves.
- She can't use both powersets at the same time. One is distinctly Jack's, and the other is distinctly Talon's. Jack can't use Talon's powers, and Talon can't use Jack's.
- Shifting from one personality to another takes time. They have to discuss and let the other personality take hold. The discussion can be done reasonably quickly because it can all be in their head, but it means it can't be nearly instantaneous.
- Blood boost can't pick and choose which senses to heighten. This can lead to possible sensory overload depending on what's going on around Talon.
- She cannot shift living beings like people or animals. Plants are possible however.
- Shifting an entire structure depends on the size of the structure and how complex the inside is. Her upper limit would probably be a two story house. Any more than that and she's gonna have trouble walking away safely. She does use her powers to see after all.

Appearance
GENERAL: Jack is blonde with blue eyes. If you were to suddenly glance at her on a day she wasn't using a white cane, or wearing the dark glasses, you wouldn't be able to tell she was blind. Her blindness did not alter the appearance of her eyes because of how she went blind. However, she doesn't necessarily look at people as they're talking as people might expect from a sighted person. She often doesn't need her cane because of her substance shifting, but she keeps a folding one near her most of the time in case she needs it. Jack's walk is confident, but careful.
Jack is 5'8" and has a fairly athletic, slim frame. She is the trim kind of athletic though, not the built type. She doesn't have the time or the interest in becoming a stack of muscle at this time.
COSTUME: All black outfit with accents that are quilted leather pattern. Her mask goes over her face leaving her ears and hair exposed. There are no eyeholes in the mask as she doesn't need them. The mask stops under her nose, going in an upside V shape over the rest of her face so that her mouth and chin are exposed.

Personality
Jack is inquisitive, yet cautious. Methodical and strategic, yet spontaneous and good at improvisation. She is a host of contradictions in a person honestly. She's intelligent, and enjoys a good challenge. Jack is determined to make the best of everything she has, and make sure her sons have everything. She is kind. And kind of a sassy smartass.
Talon is bitter and reckless in a fight. In everyday interactions though, she is cautious and distrustful. It tends to happen when your family members, the people who were supposed to be the closest to you, betray you in a most personal way. Talon has kept all the sour memories of their family from Jack so that her host personality doesn't have to go through life in such pain. In that way, Talon is kind of a softie. She will do anything for Jack even if the other personality will never know whether she was responsible or not. Talon will also do just about anything to protect people in similar situations as they were.
Both personalities value loyalty and kindness above all else, but the ways they show those values themselves are quite different. They are two sides of the same coin. And a friend you want. Oh, and don't call her Jacqueline. Jack is preferred, although they no longer get spitting mad if you call them Jackie.

History
Jack Slade was born Jacqueline Emma Slade on May 1st, 1992.
In another universe.
In a parallel universe, she was born to a family with two parents and an older brother, Henri. They were a very well-off family, partly on account of the family being one of professional hitmen and assassins. She was trained from a very young age how to operate many different weapons, and she was expected to know many martial arts inside out. Jack was not a good student however. When she was five years old, she gained a younger sister. While she was trained by her father, her sister was trained by her mother. Her mother was the better teacher. The kinder teacher. Her parents worked her hard, but when she was thirteen her parents both died in unrelated incidents on the job. After the accidents her brother continued training her just as hard, along with her sister. When she turned twenty one, Jack thought her family had given up on training her to be part of the family business. She was forced into an underground bunker surrounded by weapons and training books. That was all that was in it. The expectation was that she would get so desperate from what was basically solitary confinement that she would put her mind to learning. They didn't realize Jack had been trying all along. She just hadn't been good at it. Unfortunately, Jack had no frame of reference to realize this was abusive.
When she was released from the bunker a week later, her world in that parallel universe had been irrevocably changed. An explosion had rocked the world, and there were superpowered people. She was unaffected because of being in the underground bunker. Her siblings both had powers. Her siblings found a material from the explosion that had been synthesized into a drug. And her brother injected it into her veins. It was a serum that gave power to some, and killed others. He was perfectly aware, and yet still injected his baby sister. It caused her great pain, and in that moment her consciousness splintered. It was the straw that broke the camel's back. The years of abuse coupled with the sudden pain made her mind splinter into two. It gave rise to a new personality named Talon. Talon took all the painful memories Jack had of her life so that Jack wouldn't have to remember. It made Talon a very hateful person. Because it splintered at the moment they gained powers, Jack and Talon gained completely different powersets.
Jack trained with her powers, working hard to learn. And whenever her brother beat her, Talon would take over. Finally, one day Talon had had enough. She rose up and killed their brother. He had been beating them again, and Talon was absolutely done. She was trained as a hitman and assassin her whole life. She made it look staged so that the host personality wouldn't be able to tell. Talon was a personality meant to protect Jack from the harsh truths after all. At this point, Jack and her sister both fled their home. Jack still had nothing but good memories of her brother, and her sister had always been their brother's favourite. Her sister knew nothing of what Jack had gone through, and so couldn't tell her.
Jack became a hero in her world named Ricochet. Gradually, she gained the ability to talk to Talon. Talon became less of a hateful personality. She still didn't allow Jack to remember what their brother had done though.
Life happened. Jack got married, to her universe's version of Timothy Smith . They had two kids, twin boys named Peter and Cameron. They were happy. And somewhere in their marriage, Jack lost her sense of sight. It was in the middle of a battle. She learned to function without it however, using her substance shifting ability to see things around her. Her husband pushed to try to fix her sense of sight, fix her nerve. Jack in turn taught him to accept things. He made devices to make it easier for her to function.
Then he abandoned her. And their two boys. And left into space. Jack was bitter about it, but she managed. About three years passed for them. Jack continued heroing despite her disability. Beyond that though, she kept working on training her powers. With her use of it as a sense of sight, along with her hero work, she got better at controlling it, and her stamina for her power grew more than anyone would have guessed. Previous limitations were replaced with new ones instead.
And then one day she was sorting through a box of things from her ex-husband's workshop and found a portal gun to other dimensions. She had made many enemies in her own. She didn't want to give her sons a life like that, and there was no sign of when their father would come back. So she used it.
She hopped into one dimension after another, looking for the perfect dimension. She's finally popped into this one. We'll see what it has in store for her.
