Kassandra wasn't exactly used to civilization yet. It was a slow process after being in the woods alone since she was fifteen. The park was a good way to ease herself into it. She'd heard from people that it was policed to make sure nobody camped in the park. That said, they never checked at the top of the big trees, and that's where Kassandra preferred to sleep anyways. She hadn't fallen out of a tree sleeping since she was seventeen so it was fine. A food source was a bit trickier because she had no money. But she'd found these big containers where trucks took away black bags of used food regularly. It was stupid. So she ate some of it when she needed to. It was just being wasted anyways. She had a bag of the best bits tied to a lower tree branch. She scrambled down the limbs of the tree to get to it. Kassandra sat on the bottom branch as it was sturdy enough. She took a half eaten sub sandwich out of the black plastic bag and took a bite. She whistled happily, taking her time eating the sandwich and whistling in between bites.
Notes: I don't even know man. She just wanted to hang out in a tree and eat dumpster food. Aegis is currently organizing a housing situation but in the meantime Nitro was probably told 'look in the park' or something XD

It was orders, but it was also the prospect of another new member for Aegis. Anything to help out and to be honest, she had no clue what she was supposed to be doing when it came to this meeting. It was just checking in on this girl and with little information about where she was staying was so vague, it would be luck that she find her. Still, she was given orders and a reason to be out of the headquarters and with it, she found herself to be wandering the streets of Erikson Park as pale as ghost. The only that that really stood out was the splash of color against her dress, a lavender purple lace that lined the dress and the sleeves that danced against her wrist.
No amount of heat could convince her to wear sleeveless garments because of her skins inability not to burn. Along with a big, floppy hat and sunglasses, she attempted to seek out this Kassandra. Only thirty minutes later, she had stopped under a huge tree, shaded by nature, did she see the shadows moving against the ground and the shape looked suspiciously animated more than the leaves in the wind.
"Is someone up there?" She looked up, dart tinted glasses glaring against the sparkles of sunlight bleeding through the tree when she noticed the girl. She fit the description of whom she was looking for and the whistling sounded oddly familiar and happy in nature.
"Hi there. I'm looking for Kassandra. Are you -?" She curiously wondered, fearing that she might have just gotten the wrong person. A bag hun under the girls feet holding something weighted in it. With a glance, she could barely make it out, but it didn't look all too clean from the outside. She grimaced. "I'm Avonl- Nitro. I was just wanting to introduce myself to you and see if you needed anything?"

Kassandra saw the woman come along and look up, asking if anyone was up there. She saw the look of recognition and figured out that the woman had seen her. Well there was no hiding from whoever she was now. That was...unfortunate. Kassandra preferred not to be seen by the people in the city of Astaria. They didn't seem to like her. They always seemed to look down their noses at her. Especially while she was in the park or finding food. She was just foraging, why didn't they like it. She heard her name and her eyes widened slightly though. So this person had been sent specifically to find her.
She slipped out of the tree quickly and in a smooth motion as soon as she hit the ground she activated her power of dimensional armoury behind both her hands and withdrew twin swords. She took up her defensive stance, and it was clearly something learned by someone who had no formal training. It was a good stance, but it was very...primal. She knew this woman knew her name, but why did she know her name? Was she in danger? She wanted to make sure. Her eyes flashed with the cautiousness. And then the woman introduced herself. An alias. Kassandra still didn't know this woman's name. Her cautiousness was still visible. She heard that the woman wanted to see if she needed anything and relaxed her stance, standing up straight. She was still holding her swords, but they were at her side unused now, just in her hands.
"Who sent you, why do you know my name and why would you care if I needed anything? I've been surviving this long. It's just required adaptation to be able to manage in the city instead." Her swords were talking to her. And although Nitro wouldn't be able to hear it, they were trying to calm her down and make her think things through so she didn't attack on sight. It was helpful, and it was instrumental in Kassandra's stance relaxing.

Nitro's eyes kept tilted upward to the girl until she could see something off about the way she stood. Very off standish and a bit fearful but she didn't seem afraid at all just ready to defend herself. Nitro didn't move though. She kept her stance the same, If this girl was being recruited for Aegis, there was really no reason to show her any reason to fight her. She wasn't the enemy and thus far Avonlea didn't want to have to activate her healing for something so trivial. A smile appeared on her lips.
"I'm with Aegis." She simply stated.
Nitro looked to the twin swords still in her hands and realized that just stating the obvious reason she was there was going to do nothing to relax this woman in front of her. She shifted her gait to be more comforting, leaning more heavily on her left leg and keeping her arms together in front of her. "Unofficially, I wanted to introduce myself since it seems like you will likely be joining us soon, from what I understand."
Nitro glanced to the swords again. "How long have you wielded them? Are you any good or is it just to scare away the scumbags lurking around here?"

Kassandra heard the woman repeat she was with Aegis and she almost quipped because that was fucking obvious. It had already been said. She saw the shift in the woman's body language, but it didn't stop the caution in her own body. Her eyes narrowed at the words about joining Aegis.
"Sounds more like they want me there. I've never said anything about joining Aegis. Not to say I'm not open to the idea, but my impression was that they were just keeping an eye on me." Her jaw set. Kassandra wasn't sure what to do in this situation. Then the woman asked about her swords and whether she was any good and the caution was replaced partially by cockiness.
"I've been wielding my weapons for about five years. Didn't know that until I came back to the city. As for whether I'm any good...I'd be open to a sparring match if you wanted to find out. I'm curious myself about what someone from big wig Aegis is like."

"Of course, why wouldn't they? If your name is already on their tongue, then you must special enough that they want you with them." It was something simple, a gesture to flatter, but a truth nonetheless. She'd only been assigned to check on her and see if she required anything. Doing this personal call of them was a little new to her.
Avonlea wondered if she had said something she wasn't supposed to. That aside, she inquired about the weapons, and noticed how she changed both in body language and tone.
"Five years... I'm impressed but I'm not much of a fighter. Taken a few years of self defense, but I don't need weapons to protect myself." She ousted herself. "I assure you, I'm just a member of the group. No big person, nobody special just a need to protect others and make sure that I do everything in my power to make sure everyone stays alive at any cost. But..."
Avonlea glanced at her weapons again. "-I'd be up to the challenge if you wanted to show me how to wield them. Train me - Whether or not you decide to stand by us, we can always learn from one another, right?"

"Quit with the flattery. A silver tongue isn't something that endears anyone to me." She disliked it, because it felt insincere. Show her what you meant by your actions instead and that worked much better. Training someone to wield weapons was not a turn Kassandra had expected. Not a bad thing though. Her face took on a thoughtful look as she tossed the idea around.
"If you're in the group you should be able to fight a little bit."
"I can, but to be truthful I didn't really learn any set forms. My style is primal, the signature of a survivor. I'm not sure how much information you were given on me. I'm not against teaching you however. What weapon do you want to learn? Like...when you look at weapons what kind do you seem drawn to?" That was always a good place to start with, because the weapons you were drawn to meant you had something in mind other than getting good at using them. You had a little extra to balance you and motivate you if you were drawn to them. It would also tell her which weapon to set the woman up with. She felt no apprehension about handing the woman weapons. The weapons she would be handing her decided whether someone was worthy of wielding them anyways. They were good judges of character.
