Double Life
ABILITIES: Animal telepathy- Quill can communicate through touch or mind with the animals he encounters. He can read their minds and hear their thoughts, though they don't speak like a human would. He can mentally feel their needs and wants. If he is able to touch them, their physical needs are met through him. He can sense the muscles within the animal. He can feel the strength of their characters.
Animal Whispering - the ability to speak with the animals and sooth their inner thoughts. He's thought about becoming a dog trainer among other things, but honestly, the docile lives of the domestic were never going to be a thing for him. He works closer to the more feral animals at the zoo. He uses positive reinforcements to gain the trust of the creatures he comes across.
SKILLS:
Animal trainer: While working for the zoo, he's taken quite the liking to working closely with the animals. Once in a while, he'll be the one to voluntarily give lessons to people who can't control their pets while allowing his powers to shine for show, but it's for the animal's benefit.
Boxer/boxing: Years in the ring has given him quite the rep to be a hardass while in the ring. Started from a young age when his adopted father tried to find an outlet for the pent up anger and energy that it turned into a hobby and his method to stress. Fights for fun.
Reading body language. He's got to be able to understand the way someone or animal is moving to understand what they are trying to put off. Super aware of his surroundings in that aspect and can read a person's ability to be telling the truth or lying. Even the slightest gesture he'll be able to pick up on, though it's different from human to animal.
WEAKNESSES:
Human. He can still face injuries inflicted upon him from anyone or anything he encounters.
He can't control the muscle functions of the wild, but merely coerce them to not hurt him/do as he wishes. He has no full control over their minds/actions.
He also can not read the minds of humans, strictly the animal kingdom. However, he's made no contact whatsoever with insects, or the like. Mammal's mainly and some sea creatures.

Appearance
GENERAL: Medium sized build, Quill has taken quite good care of himself. Aside from working at the zoo, he boxes as a hobby. His physical features are from years of self discipline and hours of lifting both in the gym and his job. His determination is met with his piercing green eyes and dark thick brows. Stubble for day though he likes a close shave but not to be baby faced either. A long narrow nose sits upon his face proportionately.
Style of clothing is really anything that allows movement. Comfort yet simple styles line his wardrobe. His hair is kept to a decent, medium brunette length at all times. A tattoo does mar his skin located on the back of his left calf depicting animals that he's communed with and/or wants to remember; close to eighteen, in color, faces.
COSTUME: N/A at the moment. Normal clothing, shoes etc.

Personality
Generally, he's a good guy, but deep down he still holds a lot of resentment against his parents for letting the state take him from his home where he was comfortable. Years of abuse from the other kids through he system left him broken. He took to fighting as a way to resolve his issues. He quickly found that the more he moved homes, the more of a chance he might have at getting back his parents if he could just make the homes he lived in think that he was unadoptable.
Even after gaining a new family, he learned sometime soon after that his sisters were adopted separately and their whereabouts were unknown. Angered about the situation, he ran off only to be found later sleeping with a street dog that he was able to adopt. He's quick to let his temper fly at times though he's never cross when it comes to animals. Animal activist, he's very forward about making sure the animals he comes across is taken care of. His mindset is pretty clear that he's more likely to befriend a bear then the most innocent of humans.
He does own two dogs of his own, both Dalmatians, that he loves with all his heart and treats them better then he does himself. He has trained them for self defense and for guarding his home. Enter if you dare, but those that are welcome will meet with the gentler side of them.

History
Animal hoarding wasn't something that Quill thought was a bad thing. He grew up with a house full of animals, both inside and out since he had been born. From farm animals to domesticated to a wolf pup that had been dropped off at his parent's 'sanctuary' of sorts. It was the animal drop off and despite all attempts to keep the place up or take care of the kids, it was Quill and his two siblings that had to suffer through the decisions of his parents. Often times, their resources were only spent on the animals that they took care of.
Through the years until he was seven, he sought refuge in the cages of the animals that he so dearly loved, often times sleeping with them and the group of dogs had bonded with him unlike his two siblings. When that was discovered by a neighbor, they thought calling about the situation was needed and no sooner than a few days later, Quill had been taken from the house and put into foster care due to the neglect that he and his two siblings had to endure. His older and younger sister was sent off together while he was separated from them.
For years, Quill moved from house to house and only found solace when there was an animal or something in the household. He bonded with them in ways he couldn't figure out. He could feel something different being around them. He felt like he could understand them, and talk to them and thought it was coincidence when they responded to him. It was like he could almost hear them, too. It wasn't until he was a month from being twelve did his parents sever the rights to him and his sisters and was adopted into the Linden family that he adored. They took care of him like he was one of their own and in turn, gained two brothers.
His powers manifested even further when a camping trip into the mountains took a turn for the worst. With his brothers and father along, they were met with cougar set to destroy their camp for the food that had not been hung correctly. Try as he might, he begged the creature to back off. His father set to strike the creature to scare it off and became gravely injured in the process.
The big cat had ran off but returned later that night to seek out its meal further.
Upon leaving the tent to relieve himself, he came face to face with the cat once more. Although, this time, he seemed to connect further to it. Hearing the muddled thoughts as if it were another language somehow becoming clear. In broken words, he communicated with it. The hunger the cat felt diminished and the creature backed off. His older brother witnessed the miraculous encounter.
As the years passed, the ability seemed to get stronger to communicate with random animals. The muddled thoughts and broken words became second nature to him with any animal he came across. His time was spent wanting to go to the zoo at all times and for his senior trip, he convinced his parents to let him go on an African safari. While there, he learned more about the issues with poaching and sought to see fit that he take down those that would harm an innocent creature. That is what partially set his college career goal into motion studying to become a zoologist and then some. Until then, he's quite settled going to school and working closely with the animals he's known all too well growing up with at the zoo. Now he's working closely to the most docile to the most feared in the animal kingdom.
