Even someone with enhanced physique needed to keep working out on a regular basis. Even a superhero needed to do it. And so Elison had looked around the entire town for a gym. She'd even have been willing to pay for it, to be honest. But she settled for the one in the community center and smiled at the nice elderly lady at the reception desk. She'd started on the treadmill, and then moved on to benchpressing but there was only so much benchpressing you could do when you had enhanced strength let's be honest with ourselves.
So she settled on going on the mats with the boxing bag anchored to the floor and started sparring. Kicks to it, punches. She needed to practice, and she wasn't likely to find someone to beat up...spar with on short notice in a community center. Especially someone who could take her superpowered punches. It was damn difficult for her to work out in a way that was actually going to do something for her muscles. She still had to try though.
Elison sighed and walked over to her dufflebag after a few kicks in a row, taking her water bottle and downing a bunch of water to rehydrate. She stretched her arms behind her head. Well, she looked good in her grey crop top and matching athletic shorts at least. That was something.

Like everyone else lack of sleep was something that haunted him miserably. There were times where he could sleep and wake up and days had passed and times like now where he could sleep and it would only be minutes in between. He had made a delivery down to the community center and then crept off in the back to sleep and it was just supposed to be a quick nap but when he opened his eyes the people had shuffled in and out and he got up and wiped the sleep out of his eye, washed his hands and headed out. "I'll make sure to bring extra ketchup next time," he said as he walked out.
As he looked up and made his way through the areas he noticed things but nothing that actually stuck out to him. His perception may have been enhanced but that meant nothing when you were in a place such as this which was why when he yawned and looked he stopped. This was a travesty. Who would ever pair so much grey with..he blinked as his eyes made sure that he seen it right..red hair.
He stared for a minute because he was trying to see if he could see a strand that might indicate that the red hair was natural or not but it was hard for him to tell. It dumbfounded him who would have let her go out the house in such a clash of colors. Red was a bright and powerful color and grey was like some strange mix of dark and light that no one really liked. As a matter of fact as ironic as it was grey simply was the 'red-headed' step child of colors beating out brown but only slightly.
Socially dumbfounded he was but this was a travesty that he could not let continue. This poor woman probably thinking she looked decent and he could not help but wonder why out of the others that had passed someone had not stopped to inform of her of such a clash and in a public place too. He cautiously made his way over but not enough to invade her space and cleared his throat. "Uh.."
He was trying to think of a nice way to say that she should have went with any other color than grey but her hair was throwing him off and the shade of red was giving him a small thump in the corner of his head but he finally worked past all of that. "Grey and red are terrible together. Perhaps next time you should try black or maybe yellow anything but grey." The fact that she could even disrespect her own red hair like that hurt him right in the feelings. "Or maybe tone down the red hair to a nice mahogany brown. It would probably take some bit of a bleaching and dying process but if you are going to stick to grey athletic wear I'm afraid red hair is not acceptable."
As much as he preached on his sister about manners the truth was he lacked them and was simply ignorant to that.

The guy was seriously telling her her clothing clashed? She just stared at him for a moment, looking him up and down to appraise the person in front of her. She wasn't terribly impressed. A smile didn't quirk up her mouth, which was rather unusual for Elison honestly. "Do you usually take people aside from beating a punching bag to a pulp to accost them about their fashion choices?" She sighed, running a hand through her red hair, rolling her eyes. "If we're going into colours that clash, the bags under your eyes clash with the rest of your outfit. Unlike mine, which contrasts quite nicely. I look shitty in a matching outfit trust me." Grey was neutral, and she liked it. She generally dressed in grayscale, whether that was her black trenchcoat or the grey workout clothes. Plus they'd been cheap. This guy needed to mind his own business. She walked slowly back to the punching bag and kicked her leg out to the side and hit it pretty hard. She could probably have burst it if she had wanted to, but she wasn't in the mood and was keeping her strength back. "Kindly fuck off with your fashion advice. Didn't your mother ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Micah Nottinghamooc: She...doesn't like him. Oops.

When she started her retort he stood there and eyed her hair because as the words started to spill from her mouth he was leaning more on team natural which he muttered under his breath. If he would have known he probably would have steered away. He was..a bit more on the side of rolling dice and seeing what happened as far as friends and enemies. Right now she was marking up the enemy side which intrigued him for he had never really interacted with an actual person that he disliked before. Still he stared at her like a dope while she went on and once she was finished he covered his own mouth but only for a slight second.
"Oh she's annoyed probably," he said as he backed up which honestly put him back on the side of not natural when it came to her hair. Man he needed to make a decision about her hair so that he could move on but the more that he stared at it the more the side of his head thumped so he put his head down and stared at his feet as he finally addressed her. "I don't usually approach people at all but I thought I would be different." His feet slowly started to tap and his voice began to slightly break but he caught it and spoke again. "I just really thought mahogany brown would be a nice hair color but I can see now I made a mistake but I mean.."
He paused when she mentioned his mother. "I'm an orphan," and yeah that was a lie but really was it? He had pretty much been raising himself from a young age so it was not really a lie. "Thanks for opening up my childhood trauma. It's very much appreciated," he said sarcastically as he rolled his eyes as he took a seat on the floor as her hair was disturbing him and he needed a few seconds to gather himself. When her leg went up to the bag he felt like she might have been wanting to kick him instead but was holding back. That was a shame but maybe if he poked enough. Still her kick seemed to land pretty hard as he stared at the bag and how it moved. Now he was back on team natural as far as her hair color. None the less he picked himself up and went and stood in front of her. "Hitting that bag isn't real because the bag only swings in the direction that you hit it and then when it pulls back it becomes like a pattern that you can easily figure out. I never understood why people use those things."
He still stared at her hair and his head thumped a little deeper. "You must be quite the easy mark in whatever you do. I deliver food and a lot of times I get beat up too so I completely understand though it's kind of sad but don't worry one day I will not be a weak little duckling and neither will you." He extended his hand because wasn't the handshake thing customary? "I'm Micah."
She had dropped the F word too! "Kindly fuck off," he repeated and then went on. "I like it because it's an insult with a use of a word such as kind when it's not meant to be kind at all." He looked at his hand which still hung in the air and then at her. "I washed my hand if you are not shaking it because of germs." Someone come get this kid.

Her enhanced hearing allowed her to hear the guy say 'oh she's annoyed'. Yeah no shit Sherlock. Gee this guy really picked up on things quickly...not. She resisted the urge to strangle him because, hey, she might be neutral but she was a hero of Aegis for pete's sake it wasn't acceptable to strangle a stranger. More on the mahogany brown. Nope, it wasn't acceptable to strangle a stranger. But GOOOOOOD she wanted to. And not in the good kinky way, more like in the whole killy killy murdery way. Which wasn't a good idea. When he paused and said he was an orphan she narrowed her eyes at him. She had enhanced senses and something was telling her that that there was something...off about that sentence. She hadn't experimented quite as much with her senses in normal conversation though, so she couldn't pinpoint it. She really should look into that. "I really doubt you'd be divulging a childhood trauma to a complete stranger, but then again most people wouldn't attack someone's fashion sense over the colour of their hair either." She kicked the punching bag again. Hard. While possibly pretending it was his face. Then he commented on the punching bag, and...easy mark? Her eyes narrowed again and she glared at him. Had he seriously just called her an easy mark? Oh that fucking pissed her off. She heard his compliment of her insult and kicked the punching bag. This time, she forgot to hold back her enhanced strength and the chain suspending it from the ceiling broke and it went flying across the room. It fortunately didn't hit anyone, but one of the community center volunteers looked at it, and then her. She sighed. "I'll pay for that later I swear." They nodded, knowing she was good for it and then continued doing what they had been before. She saw the hand extended to shake and heard the words about it and Elison shook her head. "I'm not touching it not because I think it's germy but because, simply put, you are an asshole fellow." She stretched her arms behind her neck, rolling her shoulder blades back to stretch them. "My name is Elison. One of the heroes of Aegis. So no, I'm not a fucking easy mark." She put particular malice in those two words. Maybe the punching bag laying broken and forgotten on the other side of the gym would help him realize she wasn't someone to mess with. "Neither am I a weak little duckling, as you put it. I have enhanced pretty much everything, but I don't need it for me to realize I don't like you." He had a beautiful jawline. Too bad it was on a face she badly wanted to smash in. Micah Nottingham

"Perhaps this is spunk," he said as she spoke. He was quite fascinated with her hair still but he slowly pushed that thought out of his head so that he could focus. It was not spunk however he realized as she kept talking. It was upset or anger. He did not know if the difference between the two words truly existed but he had always thought that anger was worse. His eyes slightly widened at the thought that he might be making a friend but quickly went back to their normal size when he realized just how wrong he was. He cheesily smiled a little bit and shrugged when she narrowed her own eyes.
"Ooh is she curious?" he asked himself and then he nodded as he agreed with her about trauma and telling it to a stranger. "You're right red," he thought he should probably be running. He was so still captivated with her hair as he let out an agonizing sigh because it was a true pain to him if he could not figure out if it was real. "Maybe I should have suggested blonde?" he said to her as a question when the bag went flying across the room. His mouth dropped open for he was just a kid in a lot of ways and seeing that excited him. Was she like him? Enhanced but in a different way. He knew that his sister was enhanced but it was more of the plastic variety but this seemed different.
"Oh," he said as he took his hand back. "Gee wilkers I messed up my first impression now," he said as he took his hand and smacked it as he heard her speak her name. "Elison." Then she said hero and his eyes sparkled up with the whole barrage of "pick me, pick me" type of gleam as he listened to her go on though it was replaced with sadness when she mentioned that she was no duckling because what was wrong with ducks. Maybe she would have preferred him calling her a geese though he shook his head. "Enhanced everything, like senses and such?" Aw adorable at least it was something she had and it was far from enhanced plastic which relieved him beyond words. "Well now that I know that I'm sorry but I mean you're a stranger to me too, surely you did not just expect for me to guess that you have enhanced things. I want to be a hero!", he said as he nodded his head because yes that sounded good. "Is this Aegis open for others?" He still thought she was an easy mark though.

Curious? And she was right? Whatever. At this point Elison couldn't give a damn. Then he mused that he should have suggested blonde and she gave a long sigh. "Here's an idea. DON'T MENTION MY COLOUR SCHEME AT ALL." Asshole. But his reaction when she kicked the punching bag was about what she expected, the jaw drop at least. What surprised her was when he continued to say that he'd messed up his first impression and she nodded, a hand on her cocked hip. "You just figured that out all on your own did ya?" Sarcasm dripped from her words. Then he asked what her powerset was and she arched an eyebrow. He had changed his tone pretty quickly there and to be honest it kind of made her suspicious. What was he in this for? What did he gain? What was the guy's angle? "Why would I tell you my powerset when you've been so rude to me so far? And being sorry after you find out I'm a hero? That's stupid. You should have just been polite to me based on the fact I'm another person in front of you. Word things better man or you piss people off." Elison was cooling down her temper now though and she realized maybe the guy really was just stupid. Or maybe he didn't know he was coming off rudely. "Well you'd probably have to apply and we'd have to see. I think it's something that depends on applications. And it's not something that's for everyone." Micah Nottingham

He stared at her trying to take it in but women were beyond difficult. Was he to take in her emotions and her tone and her physical motions all at the same time; not to mention what about her breathing. Most people's breathing became off when they were experiencing an emotion of rage or anger but the same could be said about sadness or despair or his favorite grief. He blinked his dark iris' when she started perhaps screaming about not mentioning color scheme. "Oh crap I have upset her" he said to himself but he did not really receive affirmation until she started speaking with the sarcasm and his face lit up out of surprise. Yes look at this shuffle of emotions though he watched perhaps in semi-curiosity as her hand went to her hip. That was surely an "I'm tired of your shit" move.
He cleared his throat doing his best to articulate her moves in his head as he still listened. Applying made sense and he was like seventy eight and a half percent sure he could pass a pee test if that part ever came up. "Hmm," he said as she spoke of applying and it was not for everyone which he could understand. Not the bit of this group specifically but the whole part of something not being for everyone in general. "I think I am going to do that. Just between you and me I do not think that I will get in but at least I will have tried." Aw, cute but stupid stupid boy. "Thanks, and sorry for the ahem..rudeness, but perhaps I will see you around?"
He doubted it because she would have to be almost stupid to run into him again or perhaps curious though he doubted that he had any curious quirks honestly. "Or not since I was rude apparently." He slightly kicked his leg in a small swirl motion. "Thanks for not hitting me because it seemed very touch and go for a short while there."

She heard his words and realized he finally knew he'd pissed her off. Well it had taken him long enough, that was for sure. She didn't know if he would get in, but if he did he would probably be smartened up by SOMEONE in Aegis. It wouldn't be her though because she was noping the fuck out of here. "I don't hit people who aren't threatening someone. Because that's stupid, and a way to get everyone involved and Aegis into a scandal. But next time, watch your words so you don't end up with a boot shoved up your ass." She sighed, shaking her head before walking over to one of the trainers. "Now who do I go to to pay for that punching bag? I'm real sorry about that I lost control of my anger for a moment." Micah Nottingham

She had a point even if he hated admitting it just as he had a point about how she would look awesome with the mahogany hair but that was neither here or there. He walked over and he sighed before speaking because the truth was he wanted to tell her that if a boot ever got put up someone's ass that would be unfortunate but funny too but he decided not. Instead he walked over to the trainer and spoke. "I'll pay for it. Just send the bill...here", he said as he wrote down an address on a piece of paper and handed it to the trainer. "See you around Red." He said as he waved goodbye.
He made his way out of the building and once he was out of sight he took a seat on the curb. He wanted in that building if not necessarily on that team. He sighed as his leg began to shake. "Wait she said Elison, one of the heroes of Aegis." His doe like eyes lit up and he pulled out his phone and sent the following text.
Ahem, I know you're like sixty now but I need you to fake a crime so that I can stop you. Remember you said it does not matter how you become a hero, all that matters in the end is that you do.
He sent send. "Hmm." He texted again.
Bring your friend. If I can stop two bad people at once surely that will look good for my resume.
He was pleased at this as he finally looked down at his leg. He carefully lifted his pants leg up and carefully look at it as he poked it. "I really need to get these chemicals out of my leg so it will stop shaking." When it's looked back on, Micah would come to realize he should have taken just a few seconds longer to look a little closer.
