Heroes are everywhere, but the city of Astaria, Oregon is a hotspot. It's home to the Aegis, a group of heroes dedicated to protecting the world from superpowered threats. Meanwhile, the sinister Cabal lurks in the shadows, plotting something known only to them. Everyone rises; heroes to defend and protect, villains to oppress and terrorize, and all to their destiny.

Years have passed since Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr created the X-Men and the Brotherhood, both in hopes of helping mutant kind, but with vastly different approaches. Xavier and Lehnsherr have since disappeared among the controversies regarding mutants and their place in the world. The X-Men are struggling to stand firm in their place in a world that does not know what to do with their kind.
