"Hm," he said as he looked the pieces over now. Dismantling the piano had been a huge mistake because now all he had were pieces that he had to put together, which only made him look over in the corner at the beginnings of the memory board. He had honestly thought that he had perceived this from every angle and yet, he still had not made much progress on either but today it was all going to change. He only needed tools and skill, two things he had never thought of before hand. "Well dang," he said as he moved himself away from it.
He took a few minutes to step outside as the warm sun tried it's best to beam down on him but the truth was winter still seemed to linger in the air weirdly enough and though it was spring according to old rules and ways it did not feel like it. He made his way to the spare closet and pulled out the bag of tools and began to go through them. They were as basic as they came but he found what he needed and sat down. "Piece by piece," he simply said because he was going to do his best to put it back together especially before his cousin found out because he knew she would kill him. He was going to be here for hours, if not damn days.
Five days later and he finally had it back together and he was now waiting on his sister as he sat, thinking almost as rapidly as his foot tapped and his other leg jittered. He had purposefully hyped himself up on drinks to stay awake and he felt it was only a couple of hours before he would crash but at least now his focus could be on the memory board, still he had to be careful of that too. He had once again decided to take a rest allowing himself to get comfortable and fall asleep on the floor, since Ribbon still had not showed up.
He needed the rest so much that he did not even hear her knocking at first until he turned his head and sleepily answered the door. "Come on in Ribbon," he said. There time of interacting were so far and between but family..well no matter what, who, or where still came across your path during days. "I was wondering if you could help me with this board, or at least cut me some of your colorless ribbon and let me use it to decorate the top of Deci's piano."
She rolled her eyes. "Sure, to both, whatever gets us back to mom and dad's home faster, speaking of.." She paused because she knew that they both hated it. All the memories good and bad that awaited them both. "I just mean the faster we get there the quicker that we get away from it and can focus more on what we are doing now, which is still more important to you right Micah?" She loved her brother of course but he was such a yin and yang of focus she wanted to make sure they both still had the same objective.
Micah did not make eye contact with her but he nodded. "Yeah, I just thought you, Decipher, myself and maybe Trove could take a trip there." Yeah, he was always adding more people if he need not too. "It's just she spent a good amount of time there too so what's one more person in the end?"
"That was not apart of the original agreement," Ribbon said, obviously offended which only caused Micah to roll his own eyes as he spoke. "Shit changes Mallory, I would think that you would clearly understand that but I forgot things like that, changes are only allowed in your world not everyone else's." They still found themselves fighting terribly as she shook her head at him. "Fine Micah," she said. "Do whatever, bring the who the hell ever you want fucking spoiled ass." She never cared to go back even in a memory sense. "I just hope that choosing to bring her along, helps you get over your issues," she said as she began to stretch. She watched as the ribbon began to roll out of scales and she began to decorate the top of Deci's piano with.
"Only Decipher would want something she already bought and knows about wrapped, it is nice though," she said as she looked at it and finally took a seat at it. "I swear the pretty people always get everything," she said as she gently ran her fingers along the keys. There was something about such a small sound that struck a chord in her but it was music so she knew that she should not be as surprised as she was. "Do you think I could learn to play this, I mean usually when we learn to play something we start as children but what do you think Micah?"
He turned his head and shrugged. "A person is never too old to learn and besides it might be nice. Piano might be a good hobby for you that you accidentally stumbled upon and as the only male cousin between you and Decipher at the moment, it would be nice if for once the two of you could share a hobby." Wrap it all up in a nice present and then let it unfold as it would. "You know, let it unfold and such," he said as he stepped back and looked at his sister. "Alright, you work on that and I'm going to work on the memory board, guess it's time I stop being lazy for once." He was feeling so many things but excited was at the forefront, he just had to shake off the lazy, and soon enough he hoped for the time to do just that.
