Her first time around anything was always bad. Well maybe bad was the wrong choice of words but not exactly good at least that was how she always seen it and so far there were no exceptions but this time, much like Micah and Ribbon she knew exactly where to start and what direction to go in. They were the smallest of things in the end of the big picture that was her particular life but they were damn important so she was not going to brush them off this time. Luckily she was able to pull the two people who centered around her particular story the most at the moment out of the woods so to say and was able to bring them fishing. A lot of people would be surprised that one could fish this time of year but if you knew fishing then you knew there was never truly a bad time to fish, you just had to travel some. It was no issue to her as she looked around. Sure South Padre Island, Texas was not her first choice but it was where she was at the moment as she looked back at the camper. She would never understand how a person was able to sleep for a whole damn eight hours a night none the less six but somehow Graysen had managed to do it. She had just assumed it was his old age but then again he was finally healing if she understood correctly where he had said he wanted to pick up, though she could not say it had did much for his mood. How a passenger could be cranky was also something she did not understand as she turned going back into the camper. She had never been so grateful for the fact that it was pretty well stocked. "Graysen, wake up." She was going to have food with or without him and fish without him to but at least if she tried very weakly to wake him up she could say she had given an effort. "I will do my best to remember my table manners this time," she said as she found a glass and began to pour herself a little whiskey. A little a day never hurt, but a little was never just a little honestly. Graysen Maddox

A trip that was only going to last a couple of weeks had turned into months. Months and Graysen still did not understand any more about this woman than he had before however the two had adjusted out and agreed to do two things since it had been the two of them traveling so much. Watch baseball and fish. Something he liked for something she liked. She had her alcohol for everything else and he had his time to himself where he brooded and that included mornings as he heard his name. He opened his eyes and sat up still amazed that he had pretty much been living out of this camper. It was familiar now and he supposed that was okay. "It would be nice if you had better table manners but I suppose they will come in time. I tried to correct you twice and learned a lesson so when you are ready but I am going to have to pass on the breakfast." He leaned over and looked out the window. "This is a tourist spot so do not get so drunk you start fights. Just fish for you and peace for me." He knew he had a lot of patience but some of the people they had met in bars and attractions along the way did not. He did not even blame them since he knew that Decipher was a lot to handle drunk or not. He did not realize how long he had actually gazed out of the window but it was so pretty here. It was one thing he had to do was give her credit for finding places with fantastic views. He finally reached over and found his shirt and stood up, feeling his pajamas drop down to his feet and socks as he turned to her. Never let it be said that he had not noticed numerous times how pretty she was but then he noticed the glass in her hand and it was just one of the many reasons why her attractiveness was so superficial and helped him to be less attracted to her. Still it did not mean that some small part of him did not enjoy hanging out with her and liking the parts of her that he seen very rarely when she acted her age, which was still a little freaky to him considering she was a good bit younger than him even if still of legal age. It made it easier to not look at her long and be fine. He watched as the liquid poured into the glass and he sighed. "Tell you what Decipher if you don't drink that I will eat breakfast with you." It was strange having to parent her in ways because he did not like it and plus she was not his child, just his traveling partner. "I just mean there will always be whiskey but it does not mean there will always be breakfast with a view like this." Decipher Nottingham

Decipher had never had any friends and she was okay with that because she had never learned what it was like to share and things children with siblings learned. It was a true pleasure being an only child except that she had fully embraced being a selfish adult so much in fact that she did not even get along with her cousins that well but then she met Graysen and it seemed that he was so bitter just enough to go along with her selfishness that their friendship although a little strange worked. She knew when he looked at her he seen hotness and disappointment due to her alcohol dependence but that was okay because at least when he went most places he got a hot woman on his arm and appearances were all that mattered when they were outside. Inside where all the bickering happened because they would get onto one another about their problems so far no one had seen that. "I have no plans to get that drunk. Besides if I keep my mind occupied and my hands busy then the day passes and each day that is a little less alcohol is a day better than the last." A change did not happen over night and a lot of times it took years but she was trying and failing and trying again. She looked down at her glass when he offered as she stared at him for a second and then back at her glass. "Does a sip count as drinking since it would technically be a small taste?" She took a second to circle her finger around the glass as she thought about his offer. Eating alone did not bother her as much since if they ate together they would have to talk and she was not a person who was good at talking. Glass in hand she slid pass him and looked out the camper door and stepped down. She switched hands and gave the glass' edge another circle with her other hand. "Okay," she said as she poured the whiskey out and sighed deeply. She had never been much of a people person and a lack of alcohol was only going to make it worse. "I want the best grilled cheese here though so let's get started. Also," she said as she smiled at him. Normally her smile got her whatever she wanted but not with Graysen still it was her go to when she had planned something she knew he would hate. "I might, okay no I did in fact schedule us a hand bath for the afternoon and before you say no, you should know it helps with my carpal tunnel and plus look at these hands and nails, so soft and pretty." She took a man to look over his hands and nodded. "Yeah you could use it, see I told you I am very slowly learning to think of and include others!" Decipher was heavy on familiarity due to the way her toy manipulation worked and the time she had to spend with them to keep herself familiar with how they worked and though Graysen was not a toy, the time she had spent with him and learning about him and trying so hard to be a better version of herself had put a familiar feeling when it came to him in her head. It was not alarming but it was careful and made her be just a tiny bit more cautious though one could never tell it. She knew in her own way if anyone tried to harm him she would harm them and no amount of teeth grinding or carpal tunnel would be able to save them from the ambidextrous beating she would put on them. "Bag or no bag you think?" Graysen Maddox

He understood a little about how one needed to keep busy in order to stop thinking about something else so he nodded before speaking. "You need a new hobby. A new hobby will give you more to focus on or go back to an old hobby but one that you found enjoyable and had fun out of. Hobbies that you do not need to be twenty one to enjoy can be just as fun or you can take up baseball liked I suggested. I know you hate it all together because it would actually require you getting dirty but it is a great sport and pass time." He shook his head and spoke. "Drink what you want just keep your temper under control and a grilled cheese? If we find one then you can have as many as you want. He started to step out when she started with an also and and smiled. He blinked at her as if she was crazy because he had a feeling what was coming next was something not good. "I hate scheduling things because it never works out and I do not like people touching my hands." That was not him saying no but it was not him saying yes either. He laughed at how proud she was when it came to including others but even a little bit at a time was well enough. "You should bring the bag I have gotten okay with the looks people give and I mean it seems to be your safe space and I am good at watching you hit someone with it even if they get out of hand." He took a minute to stretch. "I know a good way to get our hands dirty too before that whatever you called it but I need you to trust me." Decipher Nottingham

"I do not like new hobbies," she said a matter of factly. New things not only confused her but if she did not understand it after about two, three tries at the most she would throw a tantrum. "My hobbies have taken me years to not only learn how to craft but get used to and if I put something new into that mix I do not know if I will remain as friendly as I am now." She thought that she was making deep strides in the nice department but that would soon be shown that she was not as far as she had thought that she was. She nodded when he asked her about her grilled cheese. She got an internal kick out of the fact that he acted like it was not the greatest food on earth but then again he was different from her. Either way she knew what she wanted and always would. "If you scheduled more things in your life you could get more out of life before you lose the rest of your hair," she said as she let out a light hearted cackle. "Only kidding the lack of hair is a good look." She let out a high pitched squeal when he spoke about her bringing the bag. "YESSS!" she said as her eyes lit up. "See I knew you were a fan of it," she said as she stepped around him and made her way back inside to get her bag. She carefully slid it across her shoulder and made her way out as she took a few quick seconds to put her hair up into a quick roll up so that it would be off of her shoulders. She gave him a look of concern when he spoke next and she sighed as she tightly gripped the strap of her bag. "Trust you?" Fudge she did not know about that she had developed some but not that much as far as her trust issues went. "I," she said as she let go of the grip on her bag and went quiet. "That's a little tough but sure just this once however I must warn you if you do something I do not like, I reserve the right to steal a car and leave you wherever you are." She nodded as if she knew she needed to be proud of herself. "Food first though!" she said in a sing song like tone. Graysen Maddox

He knew he would never completely understand why she seemed to be against anything that was new but that was sadly also something that they had in common. "Well one thing that I have tried to learn the most about myself while we have been traveling is not that everything new is out to get me. I used to be like you in that way. I would see something new and I would go running but now I try to be more open about some things however it is hard to do especially for me, once I get stuck in my ways that is usually the end of it." "I think that you are as friendly as you are going to get so we are going to see if anything here strikes your interest and we will go from there. I do not want to say we will find something because the odds are that we will not and who needs that negativity in their life." Graysen felt like he lived a more realistic life than she did but sometimes he wished he could also just learn how to allow his imagination to run wild but it was okay. He raised an eyebrow when she spoke about his hair and shook his head. "I like my hair and if you don't that is fine," he said at first and then heard her finish her sentence. "Thanks," he said. As long as he had known her she hardly had ever complimented anyone who was not herself so it made him feel a little warm but it did not last long as she squealed. "For fucks' sake," he said as he looked at her. "You're going to make my ears bleed with those squeals." He shook his head as he watched her leave. "More like a fan of the woman and not the bag," he said again to himelf as he waited. Once Deci found herself ready he nodded. "Yeah because the place we are going to get food is far from a place you would normally go." It was not long before they had arrived. Graysen had always been the type that loved food that came from hole in the wall restaurant spots and that was where he had taken Decipher. "See it looks run down but the food is always fresh. Ready to go in?" Decipher Nottingham

"That is your first mistake Graysen. All new stuff is out to get us look at how technology has people posting their food and stuff like that. I mean people do not even call people and tell them happy birthday they just text them. How inconsiderate is that?" She had a point surprisingly enough but she did not want to crush him anymore than she already had. "No no you are nothing like me I would never go running I would gracefully glide away by giving someone one of my famous smiles and then completely avoid them. It is actually a truly strong point of mine and I am stuck in my ways and stuck being this beautiful and that is that." She would change eventually but today was not that day. "Graysen you say that like I am not friendly," she said as she stomped her foot. "I am so friendly. Do I not make sure that you get my fifth favorite blanket to sleep with while I use the other four? A person whom was not nice would just let you freeze." "You're welcome," she said as she finally gathered her bag and made her way back out. "By the way I love when you cuss. It makes me feel like we are both frustrated and we can just let the bad words flow. It is the most amazing thing and I love that about you." She looked at him and slowed her pace when he said she would not go. She stayed quiet and took a second and once they arrived she looked at him. "Graysen I am a ten out of a ten and you want me to eat here where it looks like mildew lives?" She blinked a second. "What kind of cheese do they use on the grilled cheese?" She had asked for the best after all. Graysen Maddox

"It is not inconsiderate at all since a person is taking time out of their day to communicate with someone. Have the ways changed yes but things do change however adapting to them which is something you seem okay with is all apart of learning to get along and go with the flow though I can truly say I have never known anyone to go so much against a steadily flow more than you do." It was easier for him to deal with it. "Graceful glide with a smile? That is something I can honestly say I think would anger them more." It was a strange picture but somehow it seemed to fit how he imagined her doing things went. Things like this walk had became something the two of them did almost daily and he had noticed that no matter where they were he was always the one trying to make sure that they walked somewhere even when the destination most of the time did end up with them eating food. He had his own things he liked to make sure he worked into his life and walking was one of the healthier ones and it kept his mind going well which he did like more than anything since he felt like he always needed to be on his toes when it came to paying attention. He shook his head. "You are friendly -ish," he said. "I mean to me you are the friendliest I have ever seen you be to a person who is not related to you but I do wonder about people who are not me and not related but you are slowly growing and today we will drink to it only non alocholic beverages." "At least you will be able to look back on everything we did one day and be like I loved that about him." It was a nice and sad thought at the same time but he was mature enough to let it be as he heard her when she got a look at the place. "You are a ten out of ten and yes because if you want the best this is it." He did not care too much if she would refuse because he knew that was just another small part of her lack of charm as he took her hand and opened the door to let her go in. "Any kind of cheese you want and as high as you want to layer your grilled cheese," he said as he walked in behind her and looked around. He was relieved at how quiet it was as he pulled in front of her and pulled her to a seat. "Corner table, so you can look out the windows in disgust," he said as he waited for her to take a seat first. Decipher Nottingham

Decipher honestly had admitted a long time ago after her and Graysen had been world traveling that she needed him in her world though it confused her. She did not love traditionally because she did not feel things like that but she still felt a weird and strong protection for him. It was true that ever since he had shaved his head it had only intensified but she only dreamed of licking it now instead of actually trying it. However her and Grayson had discussed her slight sexual attraction to him and he had said that he would help her through it by distracting her which he was good at but still those shaved sides. "Friendly-ish is not a word I do not think." She had not picked up a dictionary lately. She shrugged. "People who are not you and people who are not family or family associated do not matter to me Graysen. Look not to make you uncomfortable but you somehow worked your way into my.." She paused because it was not hard. "I call it my Rubik's cube. I have a certain amount of sides that I can fit around who I am without changing and some of those sides are occupied by my cousins and you. Other people I have never been close with and those who I am I want to learn how not to use and learn how to be apart of the things that make them who they are too without them changing so we can all fit and thrive." It took a lot out of her when she did the deeper talking parts as she laughed. "Loved? Past tense? Graysen, Graysen you are a man in every cavemen sense I swear." "Love exists on different well spectrums and ways and if I ever look back on us it's not a word I wIll use for us. People fall in and out of love and a lot of people my cousins for example never figure out what they feel, they simply know they feel for people just not what, only strong, passionate and confusing feelings but I, I am different." She paused her thoughts and words when he agreed about her being a ten out of ten because that was..different. Normally he never admitted that he found her pretty at least not like that. Her head was swimming a little bit as she barely heard him about the best sandwich and then she watched him open the door and felt him walk behind her. Strong and musk but a bit like a wild floating flower himself that was never to be captured. She looked around and the silence only made it more awkward as she watched him pull out her seat. She felt her affection points for him go up by two as she looked at him. It was true that anyone who would be looking on would simply think that she was staring at him longingly but she was honestly bewildered at the moment because she was selfish, childish, and still he had pulled her chair out and was waiting on her to sit down. She blinked herself back to reality and sat down. "Sorry," she said as she shook her hair out. Be pretty and sit up straight it was all that their was to her right? She found herself leaning her head back so she could look up at him since he was still standing up behind her. "Affection points plus two," she said quietly. Graysen Maddox

"It's probably not a word." He listened and took a second and listened as she talked about her rubik's cube. That was cool that he was a part of it now it made him feel like he belonged even though their friendship was so different than any other woman he had ever been friends with. It had it's benefits and rough nights but she had been there for him and kept him from spiraling into depression so overall he was thankful. "I mean love. I will always love things about you just I think there will be a day when you specifically look back and say loved. I mean you have to admit our friendship is so in pieces honestly as far as having to put itself together loved would mean just as much even if it is in a past tense but love. One day you will look back and be like I love him. I mean if we're talking about it and changing things that is how I see it." "Different how?" he asked even though he was not interested he did still wonder. She was unattainable and his wonder for her came in realizing that. He did wonder why she went quiet but he let it pass as he watched her blink and her her apologize. "No apology needed," he said as looked at her and shook his head. "That has to be bad for your neck," he said as he finally took a seat and heard her mention affection points. "One more added to my total and you're going to swing on a baseball mound right? I think that is what we agreed on," he said as he reached over to the empty table a little bit away from them and grabbed a menu. He opened it up and put it down so they could both see it. "You should try the fontina and sage grilled cheese, has a good flavor to it." Decipher Nottingham
