"Kells.." Alexis groaned, the one word dripping with enough venom to make it known he thought this was the most stupid fucking thing.
"Lexi," came Kellan's soft reply. Alexis didn't have to look at him to know the corners of his lips were drawing upward into a grin.
"Why the fuck did you bring me to the play n' eat?" Alexis asked incredulously. The two had spent most of their day at Kellan's house, having sex off and on and drinking in between. This was the last place he'd expected to be taken to once Kellan told him to don a disguise for the public and that they'd be going out. Alexis rolled his eyes, tired of the older man's antics already. After a moment he felt soft hands gently rest on his shoulders. Kellan's thumbs made circles on the back of his neck and Alexis ever so slightly leaned back into it. Kellan leaned forward and whispered something in Alexis' ear that caused the heat to rise to his cheeks, and he looked bashfully at the floor. It was a weird time of day, so thankfully, not many people were at the arcade and restaurant. Alexis could instantly feel his pheromones spike and Kellan sucked in a shaky breath.
"Oh.. how I love that feeling," he purred warmly in Alexis' ear. Kellan always loved to get a rise out of Alexis. Making him nervous and excited always caused this spike in pheromones, and Kellan had made it apparent that he loved the effect. It was euphoric, or so he had described it to Alexis.
"I love you," it was said thick and slowly, as almost if Kellan was in a trance. Alexis knew it wasn't true. It never once. Never had it been true because anyone he'd ever been with was just in love with what his power did to them.
"No, you don't," he huffed. He wasn't sure why it bothered him. When he first came to the states and met Kellan after a show and they started to see each other, he thought he had been falling in love with the man, but he knew it was just him trying to hide how he really felt about someone else.
"Yeah, you're right, I just like saying it," Kellan said bluntly, not in a rude tone, but no longer oozing with lovestruck fondness either. He could tell Kellan was already growing mildly bored, the effect of Alexis' power already wearing off as Alexis' mood had shifted.
He stomped to one of his favorite games in which he still held a highscore over Tayla. Kellan followed quietly and watched him play, occasionally running a hand through Alexis' hair or rubbing his back. They were like this for hours. Kellan would follow him from machine to machine, watching him while sometimes making a comment here or there in attempts to mess Alexis up. All the while Kellan would massage him, trail kisses, or hold him. It wasn't until it became dark outside and Alexis claimed he was on his last game that the air shifted.
"Who's Mateo?" he asked just as Alexis died in the game, one of his hands combing through Alexis' curls. Alexis stopped, doing nothing even as his character respawned into the game. The two made no promises to one another that they were exclusively seeing the other. Alexis had wanted to at first, but was afraid Kellan would leave if he had. Lately, he found himself glad they never had such a talk. However, the question puzzled him. Kellan knew the band and everyone in it. Despite not being serious, Alexis had introduced Kellan to everyone in the band early on. While they didn't meet as often anymore, the two used to be together. A lot.
"You know who he is," Alexis grumbled, his grip on the joystick tightening.
"Yeah, you're right," Kellan replied with his typical response and Alexis could feel him shrugging behind him as the man stood almost directly behind him while he played.
The arcade was completely deserted and it was only till now that Alexis realized it had been from the start. Kellan had booked the whole place for the night.
Kellan grabbed Alexis and turned him around to face him, pushing forward into him. The loud machine played menu music behind them as Alexis' character died with him no longer able to control it. Alexis stared up at Kellan in annoyance who had his wrists pinned down on the machine. Kellan leaned forward, and Alexis shut his eyes and craned his neck up, expecting to be met with a kiss.
Kellan let out an airy, humorless chuckle, "You love him, don't you?"
Alexis kept his eyes closed and bit his lip, not wanting to reply.
Kellan reached up with one of his hands and held Alexis' chin in his hands and Alexis could feel the cool metal of Kellan's rings on his face, sending a shiver of chills down his spine,
"Yeah, you're right," he spat, opening his eyes in annoyance, doing his best to break eye contact and move his head, but Kellan's grip held steady. Alexis only had to look up into the other man's eyes to know this was it. His response had ended it. Or would it have changed anything if he said anything else? Kellan knew. He could tell. Even if he had did his best to lie, he knew Kellan would've known.
Sighing, Alexis opened his mouth to say something. He wasn't sure what, but something. However, he couldn't even start rambling as Kellan's grip on both his chin and wrist tightened almost painfully and his lips came crashing into his. It was the most hungry of a kiss they had ever shared and by the time Kellan finally pulled away, Alexis' lips were red and hickeys dotted his neck and chest and his wrist was red from where Kellan had gripped. His pheromones had spiked early in, and Kellan had gone animalistic.
Kellan backed away, running a hand through his long hair, offering his arm to escort Alexis out of the Play n' Eat. Alexis frowned and took it as he jumped down from the machine he'd somehow come to be sitting on after Kellan had lifted him up there. He knew this was the last time they'd see each other, at least for awhile. He admittedly hoped the man would still make appearances to his shows.
"I love you,"
"No, you don't," Alexis rolled his eyes again, something he always did around Kellan. He never understood this little game Kellan played.
A laugh. One that Alexis couldn't tell if it was genuine or not.
