SKILLS: Damian served in the US Air Force for ten years as a pilot, and received all the training that would entail. While it is currently expired, he did possess a pilots license, and is able to fly most fixed-wing aircraft. He received hand to hand combat training, including using knives and staves, and is trained in the use of various firearms.
While not superhumanly strong, he is very physically fit, and goes to the gym regularly to maintain his physique.
While not specifically trained for it, he's developed the skills to keep a low profile and blend into a crowd when he sees the need, often able to slip away undetected as the police show up.
Damian taught himself how to pick locks, and is quite good at it.
While he isn't very technologically minded, he is very skilled at woodworking and for a time was considering starting his own business selling carvings and furniture. As such he as a good eye for the quality and condition of things made out of wood.
WEAKNESSES:
Damian is entirely, 100% human. He possesses no superhuman abilities whatsoever.

While his wingsuit was commissioned for him, and he's very familiar with it's operation, he is not intimately familiar with its inner workings, and any damage has to be repaired by a third part, often the Craftsman.
With his military training and experience with his personal gear, he is a force to be reckoned with, and will often become rather overconfident and cocky if he feels he has the upper hand in a fight.
Damian has a tendency to over-fixate on one thing at a time, neglecting other things he isn't directly thinking about, especially in combat. It's never been bad enough to be diagnosed as a mental disorder of some kind, but it is something that his foes can and have taken advantage of.
Appearance
GENERAL: Damian stands tall at 6'3, with dark skin and close cropped black hair, that he keeps trimmed very close to his head. He is very well built, maintaining a very strong physique, but also keeping his overall weight low, clocking in at only 170 lbs. When he's not making moves as Nighthawk, he does his best to be very unassuming, often dressing in simple jeans and a t-shirt or hoodie, depending on the weather. He generally walks hunched over, staring at the ground in front of him, focused on just getting where he needs to be without drawing any sort of attention to himself.
COSTUME: Nighthawks' costume is a technological marvel created by a man known only as The Craftsman, an underworld weapons dealer specializing in high-tech applications for criminals who want an extra edge against the powers and equipment wielded by Aegis and people like them.
The main part is a massive wingsuit, with a wingspan of 12 feet. This suit is able to fly and keep aloft thanks to several jets and turbines powered by a reactor prototype cobbled together by the Craftsman based on plans copied from ARF. When placed under immense, unusual strain, this reactor could become unstable and require Nighthawk to either retreat to have it stabilized, or in extreme cases, could explode. Unladen, this main suit is able to fly at nearly 500 mph, and Nighthawk hopes to be able to get faster eventually. A main feature of this suit are the bladed talons attached to the feet, two protruding from the front and one from the back, that are able to clamp onto and lock in to cargo, as well as being used for weapons. These talons can also be fired like grappling hooks, being attached to the suit by a strong tow cable. These talons, together with the suit's strength, are capable of lifting and towing up to 3 tons. Tow weight doesn't directly translate to combat strength,, but the suit does give him roughly double the strength thanks to the powered limbs. The main suit also has bladed projectiles that can be fired from each wing in any direction he calls "feathers," as well as a mounted semi-automatic gun, all of which are controlled by a targeting system in the helmet. The main wingsuit is armored and insulated, rendering it largely bulletproof, although the seams, joints, turbines, jets, and heat vents for the power source being vulnerable points that can be targeted and penetrated.
Easily accessible in the main suit are a pair of submachine guns, as well as a pair of feather knives for more close range combat. The main suit can be put into a "hover mode" and Nighthawk can deploy a smaller, more agile wingsuit from it, but it doesn't provide nearly as much protection, nor is it nearly as fast. The smaller suit doesn't posses the armor, weapons, or talons of the main suit. Nighthawk has to rely on the weapons he brings with him in this one and his own skills.
The smaller, secondary suit is contained in its own backpack, from which the wings deploy out to a 7 foot wingspan. It runs off of a battery that is charged by the reactor in the main suit, giving him only about thirty minutes of total flight time in the smaller suit before it needs recharged.
Both suits, as well as the custom pilot's jumper he wears underneath them, sport a black color scheme, with purple accents, notably purple speckles along the wings.
Personality
Daimian is a very resentful individual. He will remember slights against him and hold a grudge, often finding some way to extract payback, if he can. Due to events in his life, he despises anyone that possesses superpowers, and if it's in his power will leap at the chance to humble them and knock them down a peg or two.
He views most people with suspicion, especially if they have powers. Working your way into his good graces and his trust is something that is an extremely difficult proposal unless you've done something significant for him, such as saved his life or sacrificed something very important for him and/or his goals.
Any outgoing, extroverted nature he may present is a front. He'd much prefer to be at home in his workshop carving something, or out a Nighthawk sticking it to Aegis and other powered heroes rather than have a night out on the town.
History
Damian was born a human being in a world of superhumans. It wasn't something he saw as a problem, at least up until he started school. His parents were both human and loved him, and while it would be cool to be able to shoot lasers from your eyes or fly, he was okay just being him.
But once he started going to school, he started to realize how cruel the world could be if you didn't have powers. Powered classmates used their abilities to bully the unpowered, especially ones that might be different in some other way. They thought they were better than everyone. Superior. The next phase of human evolution, in some cases. Damian got in a lot of fights all throughout his school career, all of them with powered children that generally proceeded to kick his ass. He hated it, and resolved to learn the skills to be able to put them in their place.
Right out of high-school, he said goodbye to his high school sweet heart and joined the military, specifically the Air Force, intending to learn how to fly and how to fight. He wanted to show that just because he didn't have powers, that didn't mean he couldn't be just as effective as someone with powers. He could fly too.
But things started to get bad. On deployment, he got a "John Dear" letter from his girlfriend, explaining that she'd found someone else, someone more exciting. Of course, this new guy had powers. There were more and more people with powers joining the Force as well, and in Damian's eyes they got all the special treatment.
He stuck it out for ten years, but then it all came to a head when some drunk, powered rookies started picking on him, and he went off. He beat the shit out of them, and then proceeded to fight every other powered person he could find until he was restrained and brought before his commanding officer. After two more similar incidents, he received a dishonorable discharge and was sent home to Astaria.
He tried to pick up the pieces, but life seemed to keep kicking him while he was down. Most jobs he applied for had someone else apply too, someone more suited for the job because they could leap tall buildings in a single bound and wash the windows that way, or could just pick up the cars they were valeting and put them in neat parking spaces without even needing the owners' keys. It was extremely frustrating, and he was tired after years of low-paying, paycheck to paycheck work, with little time to devote to the woodworking he loved.
Then everything fell apart.
Minding his own business one day, he witnessed a purse snatching. He didn't do anything, he didn't get involved. The thief had these weird stretchy limbs, and he didn't want to mess with that.
Apparently, neither did the young Aegis agents sent to deal with the situation. They saw the actual thief, and also saw Damian, and in their racism and prejudice, decided he'd make an easier scapegoat and fall guy, and brought him in. Damian ended up in prison for six months while the situation was investigated. The Aegis agents were found out and prosecuted and Damian was released, but that was the final nail in the coffin for any trust Damian had in anyone with powers, especially if they were with Aegis.
So he made a plan. He was going to hurt them. And this time, he really would prove that an unpowered human with the right skills could be just as powerful as someone with superpowers.
He tracked down one of Aegis' biggest donors, a rich family known as the Starrs. He broken into their mansion in the dead of night, stole as much cash as he could stuff into several duffel bags, and then doused as much of the house as he could with kerosene and lit it on fire. He felt no remorse as he took the money to an underworld weapons and tech dealer known as The Craftsman to get some gear made for him. He'd always been fascinated by birds of prey, raptors, thanks to his family name, and so had a basic theme ready for him.
Three years later, the Nighthawk suit was ready, and Damian had learned all its ins and outs, and was ready to take to the skies and bring his own brand of "justice" to the powered people of the world.
