Rigel was tired. So very tired. He just got off of work from the grocery store and had already dropped some of his check in his hidden account. He was proud that his siblings and him were able to squirrel away a bit over $5,000 in the span of 7ish years. With Sirius' help of creating an account for all four of them and him not having to hide that he's tucking part of his check away, it quickly bumped up to nearly $8,000 in the last year. It was hard but soon they'd be able to leave. He was excited for that day, honestly.
Rigel paused on the sidewalk he was on and rubbed his left eye, frowning when he felt it burn and water enough to the point that he had to shut his eyes and wait. He wished he could have glasses, but Father thought it was weak for a man to have to wear glasses. Never mind the fact that Rigel had a hard time seeing and that his teachers have been recommending it since he was little. It didn't matter. He'd get glasses as soon as he got out.
He opened his eyes and continued on his way, only to curse and turn around to head back to the grocery store, as his Mother asked him to bring home a list of items that she gave him before he left. He knew if he didn't come home with those items, he'd be in a world of hurt. He needed to get more stuff for his first aid kit, anyways.
Because Rigel couldn't see well and because he turned around quickly, he didn't see the man behind him until he collided with the taller. He yelped and shocked the man in his surprise, reaching out to grab the other so he wouldn't fall when he tripped over his feet, only to end up falling down on the ground, groaning in mild pain as he landed on his extremely tender back and bruised behind.
He lifted his head and squinted at the tall man before him and flushed when he saw how pretty the man was, especially with the sun acting as a halo behind him. At least what he could see from both the sun and his weak vision.
"I-I'm terribly sorry, sir. I d-didn't see you." Rigel spoke, voice rough as he got up, brushing himself off. "Are you okay? Did I heart you?"
