ABILITIES:
(Most are currently unknown to her. * Is the one she knows about)
-Water Solidification: Olivia can harden saltwater into an almost solid shape by increasing the surface tension of the saltwater. She can use this power to walk on saltwater and create a strong saltwater shield. If focused enough, she can help someone else walk on saltwater too, should they stand close to her and hold onto her hand.
-Water Empowerment: When in contact with or in the presence of saltwater, Olivia gains a disproportionate amount of superhuman clarity, strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
-Water Immunity: If she falls from great heights into any water, Olivia will be unaffected by any amount of water pressure. Additionally, Olivia can breathe underwater for unlimited amounts of time and see in the darkness underwater.
-Hydrokinesis: Olivia can control great volumes of saltwater to a very high degree, lifting a max of 100,000 gallons of saltwater should she get angry enough to do so. Normally, she can do about 10,000 gallons. She can dry herself and items underwater as long as she holds onto it, create oxygen bubbles underwater for people who cannot breathe underwater, propel herself through saltwater, summon waves that can easily sink ships, as well as control saltwater in order to make it explode or use it to grab something.
-Perfect Bearings: Olivia always knows her exact nautical coordinates wherever she is, which allows her to easily navigate her way at sea.
-Aquatic adaptation: Olivia is physically changed into an aquatic form, much like a mermaid or a sea monster, when wet. It can be a partial or complete adaptation. It will physically change how she looks, feels, and breaths. It mostly appears in saltwater, but the gills can appear in freshwater too.
-*Zoolingualism: Olivia can understand and talk to all aquatic animals, regardless of what water they reside in. She has a love hate relationship with it and never told anyone but her mami about it for fear of ridicule and humiliation.
SKILLS:
-Knows 5 languages (French, Russian, German, English and Hawaiian-although that last one is unknown to her at the current moment)
-Knows enough self-defense to drop most people.
-Knows how to use knives proficiently, for general hand to hand or for throwing. Prefers butterfly knives the most.
-Has an unconscious understanding of architecture and can assess a building to the point of knowing every measurement of the place, down to the centimeter by look alone.
-Knows how to cook most aquatic foods perfectly.
-Can sew and knit
-Understand how to take apart or make inert on most common weapons.
-Knows how to create and undo most knots. If not panicking greatly, she can untie herself. But often she succumbs to panic at being tied and unable to move.
-Can lift up to 110 lbs. due to working out.
-Can play guitar but hides the skill from mostly everyone.
-Knows how to use and play with a butterfly knife.
-Draws extremely well. Nearly picture perfect if she takes the time to do so.
WEAKNESSES:
-Dyslexic
-Loyalty
-Anger: Olivia is easy to annoy and anger. While those with short fuses tend to burn quick in their anger, she holds onto her anger longer than most people. If angry enough, her control and limits of her powers increase dramatically, but it also becomes very easy to lose control at the slightest distraction from someone she cares about or the realization of what she's doing. This will lead to her powers attacking her and causing her harm when she spirals into self-loathing and hatred for herself. This doesn't apply to other strong emotions.
-Anxiety: Olivia, while not caring much on other's opinions, does overthink and worry on the opinions she holds dear and how others perceive her. This will lead to her hurting herself in her need to keep their approval or maintaining the image they mostly believe. For instance, her mami's approval on her grades and her live in general means a lot to her, so she'll overwork herself to keep good grades and to keep her mother's approval in fear of being abandoned and alone.
-Abrasive: Olivia finds it hard to have new friends and to keep them, due to her abrasive nature and her being slow to warm up to them. Because of this, she tends to have a very small social circle and understands why someone would drop her if they don't give her a reason.
-Self-loathing/Low self-esteem: Even though she doesn't care about other's opinions on herself, she generally blames herself when she scares someone away. Only this will lead to her chastising herself when she does, saying that it's her choice. It tends to spiral out into her locked in her room, hiding under her blankets and crying or her going out to get laid to prove to herself that she's loveable, regardless of how she acts.
-Depression
-Only can manipulate and change with saltwater and rain. Freshwater does nothing to her for most things, much like it does nothing for others. It only keeps her hydrated and helps her keep clean. But she can see and breathe under freshwater.
-Can’t remember anything before the age of 13 years
-Ombrophobia: Fear of rain. Heavy rain causes her great distress, and she will not leave the house unless she absolutely has to. In the event that she has to, she’s decked out in all rain gear, trembling, near tears, and struggling to breathe. Her getting wet sets her spiraling into tears and panic attacks. This is a combination of learned fear from her mother’s upbringing and innate fear due to a forgotten past.
-Thalassophobia: the fear of being in deep bodies of water, fear of the vast emptiness of the sea, and fear of distance from land. She doesn’t know why, but it brings up snatches of long-forgotten and horrifying memories when she looks out into the sea or ocean blue.
-Can’t stand being tied up or restrained by rope. She will tense up and start trying to free herself. If she can’t, she’ll start to cry and beg for mercy in a forgotten language that she doesn’t remember learning.
-Gets horribly seasick on boats.
-Hydrokinesis requires a lot more focus than she's able to do in a normal day to day setting. So, the most she can control without serious focus is 1,000 gallons of water. Because of the extreme nature of the focus, she's a sitting duck, always open to attack.
-If she can focus long enough to manipulate 10,000 gallons, she'll feel sore and dizzy for a few days afterwards, as if she overexerted herself at the gym. With 100,000 gallons in anger, it'll lead her fainting when the adrenaline rush ends, often with a bloody nose and ears as well.
-Solidifying saltwater involves the same focus as hydrokinesis, along with mild to moderate pain and dizziness, should she try to harden more than 100 gallons of water.
-Much like the human body, she can't use most of the more taxing powers without a time limit of about 15 to 30 minutes. Said limit exertion is an increase calorie intake, longer sleep, shorter temper, sore hands and arms, dehydration and migraines.
-Adjustment delay: when shifting to and from her aquatic form, she'll be disoriented and will struggle to breathe for at most 30 seconds until she adjusts to the form switch. This is the same with her eyes as well. They'll react like anyone's eyes going from a dark to a light room, meaning mild discomfort, temporary blindness and blurry vision until they adjust.

Appearance
GENERAL:
At 5’10, Olivia stands confident and strong. Her soft dark brown eyes are framed by a pair of thick roundish black glasses. Messy dark brown hair cut in a short wavy bob and skin a pale olive tone from the lack of sun with a spattering of freckles lightly dusting her cheeks and nose. She tends to have a serious look on her face, but she’s very easy to smile when the right people interact with her.
She’s generally seen in a collared shirt tucked into a skater skirt and tights combo with a soft sweater thrown over the shirt. She usually wears simple converse but can be found in a pair of decent black boots. While the sweet innocent bookish nerd look is common, ripped jeans, printed t-shirts, dresses, cardigans and flannels also make up her comfortable college teen fashion look. Regardless of if she looks spicy or sweet, she will always have a small leather shoulder bag on her. It holds the usual items one finds in a small bag, but along with these items, there’s a dark red umbrella tucked away in case it rains.
When completely wet or submerged in saltwater, Olivia physically changes. Her skin tends to keep the same texture as a normal human, but there are mostly patches of scales near the joints of her body. There are some random patches of scales on her sides and hips. Near where her hair grows, scales form to act as a blender from skin to large fins acting like hair. Scattered about, there are random scales, looking like freckles. Her scales are a range of dark and mid purples, skin a deep cobalt blue that lightens and darkens in various areas, and hair a rich dark red. Her eyes change too. The sclera changes into a pearl black color, pupil turning into slits and iris becoming a bright warm yellow to a glowing red-orange color. Along with these changes, she gains gills on her neck, an extra appendage via tail, webbing between her fingers and toes, fins on her forearms and back of her calves.

Personality
A quiet and stubborn young woman who tends to have a nose in a book or draw up various architectural plans. She adores learning about the history of various tools and machines that are used to this day.
She doesn’t like people much and is notoriously picky about who she interacts with. She has a barbed tongue towards those she wants to go away and has no qualms with making them upset and angry when she insults and demeans them.
To those she chooses to interact with, she’s kind and sweet to them. That’s not to say her abrasive nature leaves, it just has the sharp edges get smoothed over in their company. She’s loyal to a fault and will always stick up for someone she trusts and considers her friend. Even if it means pain and suffering befalls her.

History
Olivia grew up in Mordovia, Russia with her mami. She grew up isolated from other people and was homeschooled for as long as she remembered. Which isn’t long, as she can't remember many things before the age of 13. The few snippets of memories she can remember often confuses and scares her. A lot of it involved water, burning water, screaming, and blood.
When she was 17, her mami sat her down and asked her what she wanted in life. Olivia, who was scarily good at understanding the architectural designs that her mami brought home, wanted to do that. So, she decided she wanted to go to college and get a degree to design and build. Her mami made sure she picked a backup, which happened to be history. Her mami told her that she will be covering for her tuition and anything she’d need for college, but the stipulation was that it had to be away from home, she must have a minimum of a C, and that she best be calling home once a week. Olivia agreed and soon found herself in Astaria a month before her 18th birthday with her acceptance letter to the college nearby in one hand and the key to her very own apartment in the other.
Two months later, Olivia learned that the best way to keep her straight A’s was to fool around to gain a focus boost, somehow gained two friends from studying for her history class in the library despite her abrasive nature, gained two fish friends, learned that her neighbors are assholes, and seemed to be close with her English professor who seemed to be just like her. She also stumbled upon a job at a coffee chain and was generally thriving with life.
