Honos was pissed. He was angry. He was upset. He's...mourning. Fuck, today was going so well! His shitty English teacher didn't throw pot shots at him or try to egg him like she usually did. His science teacher, the bad one at least, didn't make fun of him or destroy his work this time. Didn't make fun of his need to move around or ridicule him for doing things different. No one hit him or threw him against the lockers, no one stole his food, no one called him slurs or names. It was a good day!
At least until his college class ended. The professor didn't care that Honos was in the class and was just a good teacher. Most of his classmates didn't care either. If anything, some even teased him like an older sibling does, and he enjoyed it. There was a few that hated him there. A couple that had no qualms with shoving him around and shooting nasty comments like what his science teacher would say. But there's one that would go out of his way to hurt him. And... it's scary because this man was an adult and so much taller than him. So much more dangerous than him. Granted, he regularly spars with the wannabe baby Marines on Astaira, but this is different. This man wants to hurt him because he hates him. He doesn't want to hurt him because he wants to pass some test. He wants to shove him, hit him, mock him, belittle and just... hurt him because he can.
He hates it and is actually scared of the man. He reminded Honos too much of that one kid when Honos first started school with the 5th graders at age 6. That was before they dropped him back into his age group and have him do 5th grade packets. Something that they did until he hit 9th grade. He remembered this one kid actually beat him to the point that he had to go to the hospital. The kid was 12 and was held back in 5th grade for two years. It was... it was terrifying then. Just like how it was terrifying now.
When class ended that day, Honos walked out and towards the little court area to work on his AI. His little friend was being built on a device he made that was basically an upgraded phone. He didn't finish building his little friend, but hoped they'll be done before the new year. He was trying to work out the speech aspect of the code so that his little friend can talk when the device was yanked out of his hand.
"Hey! Give that back!" He yelled, cheeks becoming pink in anger when he saw it was that one classmate. The one that had no qualms with hitting him. The one that he stumbled back from and fall in front of when the man raised his hand as if he was going to hit Honos. He flinched when the man laughed and mocked him for being such a baby, looking away from the older in tears when the man threw words that both knew hurt Honos even more than the words that his teachers and his peers throws.
He hated how weak he felt, how pathetic he was to let this happen. How much of a child he is for crying at some stupid words. He hated it because he knew he could send the man to his knees and even to the hospital, but he couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to do that. Not with the fear of disappointing his grandmama and papa. Not with the fear never going to this college again. Not with the worry that Tim, his new found friend, would be upset at him. He couldn't live with himself if it happened. Instead, he just looked up at the laughing man, hiccupping through his tears, cheeks red with shame and embarrassment.
"You're so pathetic, baby. Why are you crying? Do you want your daddy? Well too bad. Daddy's not here, you freak." The man spat, looking at the teen with a cruel grin. He looked at the device in his hands and smirked. "Oh, is baby making himself a friend? Does baby not have any friends? Is that why baby is making a friend? Just watch, this thing will take one look of you and kill itself. No one wants you, baby. No one will ever want you. Your father probably just keeps you to collect payment. Here. I'll do your new friend a favor and save it the hassle." The man purred.
"W-what are you going to do?" Honos asked, nervous. He scooted back, trying to stay away from the man when he walked over, only to whimper and cling to the elder's wrist when he was yanked off the ground by his shirt. "P-please let me go. I'll-I'll pay you again! I don'-I don' like this" Honos choked out, terrified when he couldn't feel the ground with his shoes, not even the tip of them.
"You see, baby. I don't want your filthy freakish money. Not today. No, I want something...different" He grinned, looking at the terrified prince in glee. "But first..." He dropped the device, making the screen crack. "Let me do my duty for the people and... end a life of misery before it happens" He cooed, listening in satisfaction when Honos begged and screamed in pain when he crushed the device under his foot, breaking it to bits.
He shook the boy until the boy was quiet, if not sobbing, and was looking at him. "Let this be a lesson, baby. Do not show your freakish shit around here when I can see it. Unless you want me to destroy it for the sake of everyone's lives." He teased, smiling at the heartbroken teen in his hold. "You're lucky, baby. I only wanted that as payment today." He threw Honos to the ground and kicked him soundly in the stomach, feeling smug and pleased when he heard a pained gasp. "See you tomorrow, baby. And remember. Keep your mouth shut, unless you want daddy to find himself in a place he shouldn't be~"
The man laughed as he left the crying young Black on the ground, curled up in a ball. He loved doing that. It was the perfect end for his days, especially since the freak always goes to the same hidden court every single day. No one is around and he can do whatever he wants to that freak. No one will stop him! Not since the baby won't say anything and he sure as hell wouldn't either. It's a win-win situation!
Honos remained on the ground, quietly sobbing with a hand covering his mouth, eyes never leaving the broken remains of his little friend. His dead little friend. His friend who's gone and will never come back. It hurt so much. He hasn't felt like this in years. Not since his papa was taken away. Not since he lost his mama and papi. Not since he thought he lost his family forever. It hurt.
Honos shakily got up and scooped the remains into a baggy that used to hold some berries. He sniffled and grabbed his bag before he walked home, clinging to the baggy in a white knuckled grip. Once home, he discarded everything and grabbed a different bag, soon quickly climbing out the window, running to the abandoned warehouse district. The closer he got to the broken-down buildings, the brighter he glowed. Fire licked his skin and his steps left burning marks on cracked blacktop. His eyes glowed like the sun; skin translucent, looking like magma flowed under it. His hair became blueish-white fire and he had waves of heat pouring off of his skin like it would in the summer time. He was pissed. His tears sizzled before they fell, becoming steam seconds after touching his skin.
He reached out and pulled open the door of one building, melting the handle under his hand. He dropped his bag beside the door and walked into the center of the building before screaming as loud as he could, effectively bursting into fire and becoming so hot that everything within a 5 feet radius started to warp. He screamed and destroyed the remains of his friend in his hands, fire building bigger and hotter until the building became alight. Honos fell to his knees and curled up, pressing his forehead against the bubbling ground, sobbing in agony over the loss. He screamed until his voice gave out and ignored how the building slowly burned around him. By the time he pulled himself together, the windows shattered and the exterior of the building was on fire. He got up, stumbling as black spots appeared in his vision, and grabbed his bag before leaving the building to burn.
He made sure to look around before he left. He noticed some people there and decided to check out the back entrance. He didn't see anyone there and sneakily left the building. He constantly made sure to check to see if he was followed but relaxed when he finally got to his building. Once inside, he tucked himself into the hidden nook he made and ate some of the food that was in the bag, numb to the world and processing nothing, mourning for the loss of his little friend. He continued to hiccup and cry into his food until he fell asleep in the nook, dead to everything around him with a bit of tortilla in his hand, not knowing the panic he'd cause with his family. Not knowing that his uncle will find him in his nook. Not knowing that he'd be tucked into his papa's bed and held. For now, all he knows is that he hates that man and will find revenge for his little friend and everyone else who's been hurt and abused on some person's whims and amusement. He will make them scream
