ABILITIES: Flick has the ability of pyrokinesis literally at his fingertips. What started as a small snap of the fingers when he was younger bringing light to a small flame emanating from his fingertips has since grown into a fiery inferno that calls for fear. Flick can conjure fire with a mere snap of his fingers. It used to be but a wimpy flame, but now he can command the flames all the way up his arms if he so wished. Fire does not harm him, along with flames that are not of his own creation. There is the exception of an incident that happened when he was younger with his sister Ophelia using her enhancement abilities that caused him pain for once. He is also to shoot fire as a projectile. He can either build up its energy into a ball and throw it, or it can just be sprayed. Flick has spent many years practicing and is quite skilled at controlling the spread of his fire.
SKILLS:
+ Warmer body temperature than a regular person. It helps him in cold climate and weather to persevere as his average body temp checks in around 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
+ Physically fit. He does not compare at all to someone with super human strength, but years of hard work on a farm with little help have left him in good shape.
+ Adept at gun use, particularly rifles. For protecting the few cattle on the farm, Flick has gotten good at handling rifles.
+ Strong moral code. Perhaps could be seen as a detriment to others, but Flick has a strong moral code that he abides by and it usually falls under the lawful good category meaning others can trust his actions will stay true to his words.
WEAKNESSES:
- Heavily swayed by anger. While Flick does typically have pretty good control over handling his abilities, he's found that anger can really fuel his flames and cause him to lose precise control. His body temperature will quickly rise and cause the flames to spread across his body and spread out onto the ground, usually catching more things around him on fire. Eventually, this would cause him to pass out until his body returns to its normal temperature.
- Vulnerable to water. Another with water powers that match the strength of his flames could easily dull them if not snuff them out completely. He also is weakened in rain, only managing weak flames if it is raining heavier than a sprinkle. If he is submerged in water, his power is completely nullified.
- Poor social skills. Not much to say here other than that Flick often struggles in any sort of dealings with new people and this can surely be a detriment in his interactions with others.
- Tiring ability. While he can certainly burn bright for awhile, Flick cannot keep a flame going indefinitely. Just like many with powers, he does have a stamina for his power and does get tired after continuous use, needing breaks in between larger bursts of use.

Appearance
GENERAL: Flick is a simple man when it comes to attire, as it often gets ruined on the farm at one point or another opting for work jeans and t-shirt. Fancy for him is wearing a nice flannel. He always smells faintly of a campfire, likely a minor side effect of his abilities. His beard is usually kept clean as it is his pride and joy and he takes quite good care of keeping it well kempt. He stands at 6'1" and has noticeable muscle definition from long hours working on the farm. On his right hand is a plain black leather glove concealing his hand. It has fourth degree burns from the incident with his sister and prefers to hide it away from the world, being the painful reminder that it is. On his left shoulder blade is a tattooed cross paying homage to his sister Ophelia with her initials of whom he always believed was deceased. His dark brown hair is usually kept relatively short and slicked back out of his face and his eyes are equally as brown.
COSTUME: As of now, Flick does not have any sort of costume.

Personality
Flick is a family man through and through. In his youth he was rather reckless and quite the adrenaline junkie that loved to break rules like most adolescents, but since the incident with his sister at sixteen that forever changed his life, he has since mellowed out entirely. He is bound by honor, and feels a strong sense of duty to protect his family. Who was once eager to break any rule big or small, now follows them blindly. Ruled by fear, he claims that rules are put in place to keep people safe, and breaking them only gets you burned. Quite literally.
He is overly protective, stiflingly so, as he's developed an intense fear of losing loved ones. Large crowds leave him feeling awkward and uncomfortable and he is wholly an introvert that prefers to keep his social group small and small it has stayed. He stays away from most people out of fear of harming others, but also having kept to his family farm most of his young adult life has left him socially awkward to say the least. He knows much about animals, and often uses that as a talking piece when he is nervous. He's truly at home when surrounded by animals and is quite the animal lover.
Flick is a kind man, and aims to offer a helping hand where he can. He adopted this selfless attitude a few years after the incident where he lost Ophelia, choosing no longer to be consumed by his anger, but to live as she did and to carry on her legacy. He is plagued by guilt and shame and has found living in such a way has been a comfort. A small comfort, but one nonetheless.

History
Francis "Flick" Courtney was born on a chilly October night to Walter and Miranda Courtney right in the bathtub at their homestead in Bricktown, Oregon. While he was too young to truly recall what life was like before Ophelia came along, he always joked it was far more quiet and peaceful before she came along three years later. He was told by his parents that he was pretty upset to find out it was a girl when he given the news about a sibling. He'd always find that story about his tantrum over getting a sister over a brother ridiculous. As he became fiercely protective of his sister early on, even if she could be quite the pain in the ass. Flick has always looked back on his childhood fondly, as the warm memories laughing and playing with his sister and family were some of the best of his life.
Flick discovered his powers at thirteen. It was not really a surprise, as both of his parents were powered individuals. It was a minor power, much to his dismay, though that was also to be expected due to his parents powers not being all too strong themselves. All it was was a lighter like flame coming out of his pointer finger. It quickly became a party trick that he absolutely loved to show off. Still, his father, Walter, made sure he had proper lessons. He'd barely paid attention in those little sessions of theirs, but oh how his older self regretted his carefree attitude towards his abilities and to this day still condemns himself for such a flippant attitude.
Eventually, it wasn't long until his sister Ophelia came into some powers of her own, only three years after his own surfaced. It was the ability to enhance others powers, and he remembered looking on in awe as she enhanced their mother's powers over dinner one night. It had all been made without lifting a single utensil.
Naturally, Flick immediately craved to know what it could do to his own power. He always loved the feeling of his flames, it gave off quite the euphoric feeling, and selfishly, he craved more of it. To date, it has since been engraved in his memory as the worst night of his life as he and his sister made for the barn that night on the family barn.
Ophelia had touched him, and the flow of her pumping strength into him was addicting, until it was overflowing. His body burst into flames, quickly spreading to the rest of the barn as he flailed about, a sixteen year old panicking and struggling to put out the flames that circled and licked up around. In that moment, whenever he looks back on the memory, Flick can recall a moment where it felt as though time stopped. His sister was petrified, glued to her spot, and he could see the roof giving out over their head. Rushing forward, he was able to push her out of the barn just in time for it to collapse on him.
Flick awoke a week later from the incident, no doubt his body recovering from such an experience. He had suffered minor scrapes and cuts. Mysteriously, only the hand he had used to push his sister out suffered fourth degree burns. Anywhere else on his body that may have been burnt healed quickly. He wasn't sure what happened, as his memory of what happened was fuzzy for a long time after. His family searched frantically for Ophelia for a long time, getting no clues from the massive ash that was the barn and anything and everything that had been inside of it.
A couple years had passed, Flick had been eighteen that year when his father fell ill. It was just before that he finally accepted that his daughter was dead. The Courtney house lost the light and laughter that had once reverberated off of its walls. Flick buried himself in farm work, their father incapable of doing anything other than spending days on end sitting in Ophelia's room, holding on to a toy he handmade for her and was going to give to her the weekend after the barn fire. Their mother was similar, but able to keep her head up, for she believed and tried to convince the two Courtney boy's almost every night that Ophelia was out there somewhere, and that they shouldn't give up hope.
Flick went through a period in his late teens to early twenties merely pissed off at the world, and drowning in self hatred. He did all sorts of petty crime in that time and got into stupid fist fights at school as an outlet. It was his high school girlfriend, Willow, that helped him and brought him to therapy and anger management. The pair would later break up when his dad died when he 25. To this day this still remain good friends.
Life started to slow down, and his days were filled with calm nights on the farm tending to the livestock. Every night he'd look over at the empty space where the barn used to be, his entire family unable to build a new one in its place, missing his sister. There was an empty grave with a beautiful cross under a nearby tree that his father had spent years on for his sister. Most nights he relived that dreaded night, but other days, when there was a gentle breeze over the land, he'd get a flood of warm memories of his sister.
For a couple months now he's been on the road, looking for his sister. Something Flick had always avoided, for he was scared of the undeniable truth he would find. The Courtney farm had been left in the hands of Willow and her husband until he returned. His mother had fallen ill and had been bedridden for the past five years. He dutifully cared for her, but as if she knew her time was coming, she urged him in between fitful coughs to bring her daughter Ophelia home to her one last time.
