She did not know where to start, not for what she wanted to get across but in not knowing where to start she knew that she did not want to stop. She knew that there had seemed to be times where she did but the truth was that she was a difficult child that her grew into a rebellious teenager and now was an awkward and non rebellious young woman but still she knew that if she did not do it now she never would. With that in mind she did what she always did and she knew that she was not the best at it but it fit her and as much as she tried to deny it, some things we can't deny.
She steadily blinked as she sat up on the roof, trying to figure out just how to convey it to her brother without Micah think that she had lost her mind because if she was honest to herself it would be her out of the two of them. She knew that because the good doctor had told her that she was made of delicateness and that balance: the one thing that she echoed even when the world was on fire. You had to have balance of fun and respectful, balance of leaning into doing what you wanted but also making sure that you followed the rules because without rules people tended to go off the path more than they needed and that was the last thing that she wanted to.
Still she was not doing this to impress anyone but more so to help herself. It was like..well that was where she found herself the most confused trying to find an..was the word still analogy? The English language and the dictionary change what seems like more often now with it's adjustments and what not that she was not sure if analogy was the correct word but it was the word that she was using. It was like being caught red handed. Still maybe that was just what she wanted to get caught but not caught like ending up in a jail cell, no caught and understood because for once she finally realized that for her the two went hand in hand.
Still she sat on that roof as she heard the footsteps and she did not look up because she did not have to. "Mom," she said as she nodded her head. "Come to see me I take it?" Faye shook her head. "I actually came to try to stop you," Faye said because as it was with parents they know us better than we ever know ourselves. Through all the fighting, all the tears, all the happy moments and moments that scare us to death. Ribbon finally turned and looked up at Faye and shook her head. "You would only need to stop me if you think that I can not handle it."
Faye chuckled and spoke. "I know you can handle it, it's just I don't want to get my hopes up and you change your mind." Ribbon shook her head. "Come on Mom, it's me, I'm not which is why I'm giving myself ample time to wrap up other things and then do this. Spring has always been my season and the best time for me because I do not get sad and shit like that and besides the winter is just, everything has been rough and still is for me but it also has made me realize that this is growth of the highest formula."
"Alright then," Faye said. "Time to prove it," Faye said as she got behind Ribbon and pushed her off the roof top. "Shit, warn me at least," she said as she felt the scales on her back began to spin and she felt the ribbon loop itself out and grab ahold of herself so that she could put her feet on the ground as she looked up at Faye. "Pushing is rude Mother," she said as she looked back up at Faye as Faye yelled down. "I know but old habits you know? Take your brother with you!"
Ribbon looked up. "Crap, she's going to catch me red handed," she mumbled under her breath as she watched the ribbon start to turn. "Uhm, yeah about? Can't Micah said he's going to sit this one out and work on something or other with..well I don't remember how he worded something about tables and such? Oh right I remember now, he's redoing Trove's kitchen table. You know they do that periodically. Take care!" Faye's eyes went narrow with slight concern. "No, he can't do that." Ribbon shrugged as she played with her ribbon. "Uhm actually he's probably already started so yeah you might want to get off that roof and take care of that. I'll see you soon and don't worry I'm not going alone!"
