Dubai was more than just a hot place with wild nights of who knows what. It was home to a very small, very intimate preservation for the cape hare. However where there were cape hares there were also leopards and for the past few trips here she had been trying to get this nature reserve done to protect the cape hare. "He went where?" she asked the woman to which the woman answered "Oregon I think." She gently pushed the cape hare into it's safety area and after a few minutes turned and looked at the woman. "Is it cold there right now?" The woman shook her head. She dismissed the woman and turned to the cape hare. "Guess I'm packing in that case," she said as she turned put the door down. *** Location: Astaria Oregon She had stowed away on a ship because she wanted to come in at night time, find her brother and get out. As the ship pulled up to the pier she carefully grabbed her ribbons and her backpack and checked it as she stuffed the ribbons loose. Once the ship had stopped and the cargo began to be unloaded she carefully made her way out and around the workers graciously walking and leaning thanks to her gymnastics training and...she still got caught. When the man looked down at her she felt her eyes bulge but he was a stranger so her talking was an absolute no. Still her eyes closed. "Lori what are you doing?". She turned and looked at him. "I don't have anymore powers so I'm going back under the knife to make sure it stays that way and every time that I feel like it might be coming back I will go again and again. There is enough money for me to keep doing it and stop calling me that it's Ribbon now."
He hated it because she was stripping herself. It was such a stripper name which only pained him more. She spoke up interrupting his thought. "No need, we haven't been brother and sister in a long time Micah."She opened her eyes and kicked at the man but missed but just her effort caused him to toss her up against a few crates. She felt herself tossed as she groaned as her backpack went smack up against the crates as well. She felt her face frown as she had no money as of yet to replace it all and it was a lot of ribbon. "I do not care about what is going down here I just need to get a little more in so I can find my.." "I took care of Uncle G's ashes. I guess you were too busy under the knife again," he said to her. She stood staring at herself in the mirror and she turned admiring her new backside as she spoke. "I was tired of not having anything in my jeans but yay and now look at me" she said as she turned and smiled at her brother. "I'm so pretty except for these eyebrows but they told me that they can do this thing where they tattoo them on. I'm getting that done soon and nothing they can do for my hair though they said I can keep bleaching it to wash the color out though that burns the shards in my scalp but no mind. Beauty here I come!"
He reached over and hugged her as he spoke. "You do you Rainbow," was his simple reply. "..brother" she finished off as she felt herself tossed away from the docks and into the road. She felt her backpack tossed out with her and she tried to stand but she fell forward just a bit and then back into the nearest corner wall and clutched her backpack against her chest as she sighed and felt for her ribbons. "These were supposed to keep me safe." She did not feel safe at all as she finally got up and started walking keeping her backpack extremely close as she shivered. "Today was the last visit before she goes down the river and you were where?" She looked at her brother and held up her ribbons. "Gymnastics lesson and then I had to go let the mark where they are going to smooth out my nose a little bit." She smiled at him. "It is my last step before I am a ten. I mean I felt like I was a ten last time but this is it!"
He shook his head. "Okay. I know how much you like gymnastics and I forced myself to sit down and watch some videos and I made you these. Well I bought these ribbons and just keep them with you and I just want you to" He wanted his sister back but he had promised no badgering. "Go win." He was enabling her so he had to leave. "I'm going on a trip and when I get where I am going you should come see me. You might not consider us blood anymore but we are and we always will be."So here she was trying to find him for he was her brother and when he needed her she would always come through even if she did not have anything to really say to him. She turned the corner and smacked right into someone and dropped her book bag and sighed as all of her ribbon went rolling. "Great, just great" she softly said as she moved out of the way and went to go picking up her ribbon. "Nothing to see here," she said as she motioned them to go on with her hand.

Elison was doing her nightly runs. On rooftops. It helped her stay in shape, and having someone as good at Parkour as herself helped Aegis. She could maneuver anything she came across. She leapt across a divide between two rooftops and then she heard sounds of a struggle. Her enhanced hearing could tell it. She'd heard enough fights to know the sound of one. She ran to the edge of the rooftop and looked at the pier, letting her enhanced vision do some work. Night vision was damn handy, and it allowed her to see what was going on. A guy was attacking someone, but they seemed to be holding their own. Seems they were looking for someone. Elison's mouth curled up into a sly little smile. But then she watched them tossed out into the road. Well so much for them holding their own. She jumped down from the building, her customary black trench coat billowing around her. She'd went with a grey sleeveless sweater and jeans today. Jumping down looked cool, and it was only like one story anyways not a big deal. She dashed in between the man and the woman. "Get out of here man. You don't want to have to deal with me." He gave a little growl and she laughed. "Oh HONEY." She dashed forward with her enhanced speed and punched him in the chin and propelled him backwards. "Now get out of here before I decide to look into what you've been doing and get Aegis on it." She wasn't a complete hero type. She heroed sometimes, but if people left well enough alone then so did she. It was up to him whether he wanted to do what she suggested. She turned to the woman. "You okay? Get out of the road before someone comes down to the pier in a semi or some shit." She smiled. Ribbon Harmony

She watched as she slowly picked up her ribbons and put them back in her backpack and she blinked when the person, woman she realized later went forward in an unusually fast manner. She cussed under her breath. "Freaking french silk pie," she said as she watched the altercation come to a standing point and the woman's attention come on her. Some shit was right as Ribbon finally found the last of her materials and stuffed them into her back pack. She made sure to zip it up this time as she got a little closer to the woman but not enough to touch her or anything because stranger danger even as an adult was real.
She took in the woman's attire and then she finally spoke as she shook her head out of her own little world completely dazed. "Yeah I was headed to the nearest hotel." She tried to take the woman in. "I can find it actually but thanks I was quite in a predicament there that I was not sure I was going to be able to wiggle my way out of." She placed her hands now that they were free across her chest still tightly and spoke once more as she looked around to make sure no ships were coming.
She nervously pulled her back pack right back to her chest and began to unzip it as she grabbed a spool of ribbon and also kept it to her chest. "Oh sorry I'm Ribbon. Once again thanks for doing me a solid. Do you know if I am anywhere near a hotel or a motel or even a bench?" She thought that she should return the smile so she smiled because manners. If she did not stick to her manners she was sure that Micah would have some choice words for her. Sliding both of her arms through the back pack she looked down at the spool of ribbon as she placed it around her index finger and slowly began to watch it as it hooped around her finger.
Such joy in something so simple really as she took the woman's attire in keeping her eyes mostly on the darkened color trench coat. Well that worked to keep the woman well hidden she supposed as just had been shown evidently. "Is your coat for sale?" she asked as she continued to spin the spool of ribbon around her index finger and then carefully opened up hand and turned it face down as she watched the ribbon carefully began to unravel and fall at her own feet. Her eyes went down to the ground and she took in the dark purple of the ribbon and while not quite like the black coat that the woman was wearing but still a nice color being deep in hue and vibrant in it's own special way. "Ten thousand dollars if so."

Elison heard the words thanking her and shook her head. "No problem it's kinda my job. He probably should have been dealt with before now..." She sighed, running a hand through her vibrant red hair. She listened to the words the woman had to say and...just paused and looked at her sort of confused. "Okay the coat is not worth anything close to that unless you're a collector of Aegis artifacts or something. I can give you the link to the site where I bought it I go through these things a fair bit. Turns out heroing in a trench coat means bad guys grab your collar a rather lot. As for place to sleep, there's no way you're sleeping on a bench. There's a motel not far from here. I could give you directions, but the area's pretty shifty at night as you can see. If it wouldn't make you uncomfortable I'd rather escort you. I swear I'm not just some rando. I'm Vigor from Aegis. If you doubt it you could google me." She grinned, waiting for the response. It would depend on what the woman said what happened, whether they headed to that motel or not. Maybe if the girl could defend herself, Elison would let her go alone but so far she wasn't really getting that impression. Ribbon Harmony

As she listened to the woman talk she did her best to imagine it in her head and yeah she could totally see how someone would think grabbing their collar would put them at an advantage. Still she listened and shook herself out of her daze as she did not want to be rude to the woman which also caused her to put her ribbon up and put her back pack on the correct way. Her chest did not feel any better though but she finally spoke once she was sure that the woman was done. "I would probably do better to take the escort even though we did just meet. I have had much stranger things happen so what is the real harm in walking with a stranger?"
Being in this place she really should have came in at day maybe more on a bus or just walked in like a true tourist with one of those funny looking maps though her curiosity had been peaked when the woman mentioned artifacts. History seemed important but she let that go for a minute. "I will take that website link if you do not mind," she said as she dove into her back pack once again and pulled out a phone if you could call it that. She was overdue for an upgrade but all in due time. She put her head down to the screen as she stood for a minute and hit the icon for the phone's versions of stick it notes and then handed her phone over to the woman. "Just type it there and I believe you no need to google. Vigor, Aegis, kick ass red hair and a bad ass trench coat that I completely overpriced."
She recalled the woman saying that it was kind of her job to help. "Well Vigor I think I am going to be in town a little while and eventually I am going to get tired of this motel I am sure so if you see me around doing odd jobs here and there just ignore the strange circumstances that it might be under please. So this Aegis sounds interesting." If the girl would have been a cat her need for satisfying slight curiosity would have killed her ten times over already. "Is it like police or something? Pardon my stupidity I'm a slow learner and as you can probably deduce an even slower person when it comes to defense."
She slightly shrugged as she tucked her bottom lip in slightly under her teeth and then untucked it. "If the night time is as dangerous as my first encounter here I need to change that. So do you like your job at least?"

What was the harm in walking with a stranger? Elison just looked at the woman for a moment silently, blinking rapidly. She had gotten her way rather quickly, but also this girl was way too trusting. She felt now like she probably had her work cut out for her. Then Elison was handed the woman's phone to put in the site link and she nodded, taking it and punching in the link quickly. She totally didn't use her enhanced speed to speed up her thumbs entering the link or anything... "Some heroes do go for overpriced designer, but I was raised by middle class parents who had to pay for my treatments as a kid. Money is not something I like to take for granted." She hated overspending. She could see why some people did it, because shopping did give you a rush. But she was not going to do that when she could save money up for a time later on down the road when she'd need it more. She heard the other woman talk about how she was probably gonna be seen doing odd jobs and Elison couldn't help but laugh. "If you think I'll find them odd, you have no idea what I've seen in this city." Then the question about Aegis and Elison scratched her chin. "Sort of, but not. It's a hero organization that handles superpowered threats. And it isn't government, but like, the United Nations. It's a global protection thing." She shrugged. "I don't pay too much attention to the politics I just kick ass when it's needed." She grinned. "I do like my job though. It pays well, I get to use my powers, and I get to sleep a lot during the day which suits me fine." Fucking sun allergy made her hate the sun to begin with after all. "And yeah, you should probably look into getting better defensively. If you'd like I could show you some pointers sometime. I work out at the community center a lot to keep in shape. Having superpowers doesn't keep my muscles the way they need to be to pull off said moves without pulling a muscle occasionally." Ribbon Harmony

She watched the rapid blinking and she slightly grasped her bag and brought it back to her front. As she did she began to unzip it and twirl the ribbons around her hair off of the spools leaving the empty spools in the street . Red, Orange, and yellow ribbons hung from the young woman's hair now as she found herself slightly listening. Middle class parents made her flinch a little bit as the red and orange ribbons connected pulling the yellow ribbon towards them leaving barely seen pastel colors in her hair but she hoped that it went unseen as the woman was punching in the link.
Her blonde hair came down, the pink roots slightly sparkling and covered the ribbons and she spoke after a few minutes. "I find everything odd but maybe the longer that I stick around the less that I will but who knows," she said as she twirled more ribbons in her hair. She put a bit of blue ribbon in her hair and watched as it touched the red ribbon and turned purple creating a strand of ribbon to come out of her scalp and yet she still just talked and walked as if nothing was happening. "Global protection is good I think." She burst out laughing when it was mentioned about kicking ass when needed. "Super powered threats can get out of hand easily sometimes I am assuming." She was kind of curious about this place but she did not say such a thing.
Her get better defensively? Lol, she shook her head when it was mentioned and spoke as she twirled some white ribbon across the red and watched as it turned pink. "Yeah I mean..I try but..I just..fail." She looked up with intense puppy dog eyes when she felt her hair slightly pulled back out of her face. Her ribbons were acting strange but she took it as a cue that she needed to look the woman right in her eyes with the puppy dog look because who could resist such a thing. The ribbons slightly twirled and as the ribbon did so, she put a little blue in. The blue swayed towards the yellow and a green ribbon sprouted itself from the young girl's scalp but she kept talking as she felt the green ribbon slightly tug against her scalp as she sighed. "Okay though I mean I am like a really true blue beginner."
The blue ribbon gave her scalp a slight tug which caused her to growl a little bit and her head jerked a little. "Sorry I think my brother gave me the wrong bag." This was quite embarrassing having her head jerked by ribbons that seemed to be wanting to have their way with her hair and her scalp. Still she went on. "Maybe if I take a few lessons from you it will lead me to greener pastures as far as self defense goes." The green ribbon gave her scalp a jerk and she slowly began to grind her teeth. "Okay these are surely not my ribbons. Excuse me a second."
She threw that bag as hard as she could and then turned to the woman. "Yes, I would like that very much as just thinking about it has me tickled pink!" she happily exclaimed. The pink ribbon in her hair gave one hard jerk and she went down to the ground. "Ahh!" she said as she hit the ground and her hands went up and she began to frantically wave them. "Stop this is me waving a white flag!" The white ribbon gave another tug and she felt her body being jerked back towards the pier.
She threw her hands out to grab the woman that had been nothing but nice to her but she failed as the ribbons tugged and she was headed straight for the pier. She screamed. "I'm going to kill Micah, we both know it's he who is the black sheep of the family, not me! All those ribbons lost their color placed with a single black one as it wrapped itself around her hair and quickly began to make it's way down to her neck as she felt herself tossed off the pier and into the cold water. The ribbon let her neck go and she frantically came up splashing water everywhere. "HELP ME PLEASE I CAN"T SWIM!"

"Global threats can indeed get out of hand. In fact this one time I had to defend a crowd against a guy who had a bunch of hands all over him. Dunno exactly what he could do other than the fact that you did NOT want to be touched by him." She shrugged. The tons of ribbons was a little weird if she was being completely honest. Then she heard the bit about the beginning and saw the blue ribbon yank. "We were all beginners once..." Her sentence trailed off as she saw the ribbons yank and jerk the woman every which way. Her eyes widened. Then she fell off the pier as a result of the possessed ribbons and Elison ran towards the pier, diving off the edge gracefully like a pro diver. She'd taken a loooot of swimming classes over the years. It was something she liked to do to spite the fact she was basically a vampire. Vampires were supposed to not be able to do water, but she could. She thoroughly enjoyed flipping off fate. She swam towards the other woman, wrapping an arm around her torso careful not to overuse her strength. Then she started swimming for the pier. "I've got you. And for the love of all that is holy, please stop using colour sayings it's just making it worse. You're pissing off the ribbons." Then her voice trailed off. "For fuck's sake that's something I never thought I'd say. As if it wasn't bad enough I had to be careful about offending everyone's sensibilities now I have to worry about the damn ribbons." Long ago she had came to the conclusion that her death would be one of the ones to go unnoticed but she had never thought that it would be by something so stupid as ribbons and as soon as she hit the water that was what it felt like. The water was cold and she wanted to roll her eyes but the force of the splash was keeping her from accomplishing such a task. No one would ever understand the amount of embarrassment that she was suffering through her shrills of screaming and in front of someone that she did not know from the backside of a freaking barn. "Just let me drown," she eventually muttered to herself and in that moment if she could have she would have kicked herself for the muttering. Grown people do not mutter they speak clearly so that what they want and need is understood.
Once she felt herself being rescued the truth was she wanted even more to die in the woman's arms because this was not what she wanted which only upset her and her eyes were filled with tears but thankfully encompassed by the water. "Making it worse?" she said as she caught her breath. Oh heck to the freaking no. Once she was to a place of safety she looked at the woman and held up her hand. "I'm going to thank you in a minute but first I'm going to kill my sibling and that sounds..."
Pissing off ribbons? "Damn right I am pissed off! I just almost died because of a stupid material!" She gathered herself as she pulled herself up onto the edge of the pier and fell down flat on her face. Her tears flowed as she spoke to the woman through spurts of water. "T..t..thank you for saving my l..l..life but I am about to go murder my brother now." She needed to calm herself down because she just wanted to go and do something, anything that did not require the people around her to constantly be pulling on her. She turned to the woman. "You have saved my life twice in a matter of minutes so like I owe you a donut or something but let's keep this between us please? I do not even know how to began to explain this."
She ran through her hands through her wet hair as she looked at the woman. "Long story short my parents had two kids but siblings aren't anything but a pain in the rump! My brother has always been jealous of me and this just proves it but I can not outdo him with my lack of..ahem skills..so..I'm going to tame these so called ribbons. I mean my name is Ribbon so it only makes sense and first, I need you to teach me how you did what you did to that man earlier."
Defense always won championships. "Interested?" Oh Micah was going down.

Elison had heard the girl mutter 'just let me drown' and had to choke back laughter because she was drowning, but like...this girl was great. The redhead was taking a shine to her, and was glad when they were on dry land again. She listened to the words the woman was saying about wanting to kill her sibling and Elison grinned, her eyes twinkling with amusement at watching her. She did a facepalm at the rant though. "No not pissing off Ribbon. Pissing off ribbons. You didn't notice? Everytime you used a saying with a colour, the corresponding ribbon fought back. You had ribbons with a bad attitude. Although I have to admit it was a little hilarious seeing someone called Ribbon getting pummeled by ribbons." She shrugged, carefree about it. Probably more so than she should've been. "Don't worry about it. Even if I talked about it, nobody would believe me. And I can teach you to defend yourself. What I can't teach you is what I did to the man earlier. I have enhanced strength and speed among other things. What you witnessed earlier was basically just brute force. I do know my way around a fight without my powers though. Also, what's your brother's name I might know him and be able to point you to him. I make it my business to know a lot of people if I can." Ribbon Harmony
