He nodded because even though she said that she was losing her intelligence he found her smarter than ever but he was not her so he did not know if she was used to being smarter than she was currently showing. "No need to bark loud enough to cause a scene though. I came here because it's easier being able to stroll along and not have to worry about anything." His heart would always sit in the south but he had learned to move on though that was not easy in any way.
"Being in Astaria has taught me more patience than I ever thought that I could have and on top of that it has allowed my sister to put her feet somewhere firmly even though she fights it." They would always look out for one another but he knew he looked out for Ribbon a little more. "My mom has even found some sort of peace here after the years and that is amazing as a thought to me even if a little scary." One step at a time was good for him. "However peace does not come without other small problems in this case as you are aware of Trove's memories. I am almost sure that by the time Vivian's baseball arch goes off that won't be as much of a problem anymore either though which is good to me."

"Well I would advise you to be honest with her but Micah I am not sure if you want to. Just because a person has learned patience does not mean that they have learned honesty to others." She smiled. "If anyone understands why you are keeping things from her you should know that I do but it's not good and more than that it's not healthy. If what you say is true she already teeters between trusting you and in your words wanting to pull your tongue out at times if she had the force and that does not sound appealing at all." Love however was complicated though she did not know if she had ever heard Micah say that he loved Trove at least to her. What they said between the two of them was a whole different world as well. "Love is such a spectrum that at times it's difficult see and one hundred percent guaranteed hard to understand." She was still barking so to say at the fact that he was hiding something but not so loud anymore but enough that she hoped that he picked up on it. "Much like a rainbow wouldn't you say? It's beautiful but the process we put ourselves through to make sure that we are aware and taking care of something so fragile is so complicated so much in fact that even when we do not want to we find ourselves running away from it." She laughed as she leaned closer to him. "Not that you'd run away from anything right?" She could see right through this boy and all of his own colors of deceit. "Guess this is where I take my periodic table and go home in that case." Now she was just teasing him because it was so much fun. "I mean since you don't need it anymore right?" Micah Nottingham

"You always did play hardball," he said as he spoke. It drove him a little crazy as a child when she became his therapist because she did not take anything from him besides excellence and as a kid he did not fully understand that but as he got older he did. People only wanted from you what they seen in you and it was true that his perception had been off but she had helped him get better. "I believe that the phrase is take your ball and go home but sure if you want."
He let out a laugh that was starting to sound more like a grown man laugh than anything else and he knew that was a sign of his maturity and it was one that he welcomed. He was sure that Old Man Strife would be proud of him as well because as he would often say his balls were finally dropping. "I don't want you to go back to the south Gigi. I want you to stay here." He was trying to think of how to word it. "If you're not here there will be no one to correct me when I do wrong."It was true because for most of his life the other women that surrounded him told him that he was doing wrong but they never corrected him for it. "Stay because you want to dance along it just as I do."

She kept her attention on Ribbon as she heard him talk. "Your words are starting to come together nicely. I can tell in your sentences that your confidence is growing and more than that I can tell that means that it is you who are learning to pay more attention. It's always nice to see a person's growth." She took a minute to lean into him though she knew it was wrong. "Paying attention is very important. It will get you very far and it's not to say that you will not make mistakes but hopefully the mistakes will be less. To me that is what life is all about, learning from the mistakes that you make because no one is perfect." A lot of people thought that they were and she had did a time or two but she knew better now and she thought that for all the knowing that she was truly getting towards that which was perfect. "I'm not going to leave you because you did not leave me." They were close though she was keeping herself guarded too. "If I wanted you to be out in this sea of monsters I never would have came here in the first place." Micah Nottingham

"I couldn't." He could feel himself, his thoughts going back to it all. "You were the only person that I made sure to say goodbye to because it did not feel right to me if I would not have. It was not that everyone else did not deserve it but you were so special to me in ways back then I thought only sat on the line of you being my therapist that if our communication would have found itself split I do think that I would have not been able to take the time to give myself the time that was properly needed for me to be how I am today."
He did not do mush and he felt like even if he wanted to now was not the proper time. "That's why I figured that one last time around the bend would do good in a way. Ribbon is going through something lately that she does not think that anyone realizes. She went to go see Mom the other day and well this is what happened." He held up the video that Faye had sent him.
"Look at my hair!" she exclaimed as she looked at her mother but Faye did the same thing that she always did. She stared but she did not speak much and it was not possible to know why. "Look stop being mad at me for once and be my mother." It was true that Ribbon did not have any respect for her mother but when she needed her help she expected it. Faye slowly turned and spoke. "I wish that I could help you but I don't know you." Faye's maturity had caused her to be brutally honest when she spoke. "I mean after that one school year you became a person that I don't know down to everything that made you who I used to know. It was one thing to change your name Mallory but it was a whole different thing to shun your scales." While Faye could understand why she was not exactly a fan of it. "Your father and I put a lot of work into making sure that you were balanced after I placed them on your back in a fit of immaturity and rage and as soon as you did not have him anymore you didn't even try to let me help you."
Ribbon ran her hands through her hair and spoke. "Mom don't play victim, you always preferred Micah and tickled his balls every chance that you got, not literally of course but still. It made sense that I would drift towards Dad, plus he didn't hit me when you had to work late but you did." She was tired of running though. "Look it's in the past and I am ready to focus on my present and build towards my future so I need those keys." Faye shook her head. "I'd love to give you these but you have yet to earn them. It's like after your trip to the coldest of places you simply forgot and I can't just give them to you because you are not that girl anymore. I am giving them to Decipher." Ribbon let out a sigh. "You're kidding right?" Faye shook her head no and went on to speak. "Look you look like you got a lot going on and like you need to relax. Go home, and take a shower, light some candles and just breathe. It's like baring your soul though I know you don't want to talk about that either."
"Just let me borrow your shower since you're going out right?" Faye nodded. "Yeah I need to go see Gigi and then Balthier. You know what just lock up when you are done." Faye grabbed the keys and made her exit as Ribbon made her way upstairs. She had never been much of a shower girl so she decided to take a bath in her mother's garden tub, stripping herself of her clothing and quickly passing the mirror so as not to look at herself. She placed herself in the water and cut it off once it was equal level with her midsection so as not to cover her too much and have to worry about a fear of drowning. "I do need to relax." It was the only piece of advice that her mother had given her that actually made sense so she closed her eyes and let the ripples of the warm water be the only thing that she surrounded herself with. "Bare my soul, Mom has no idea what she is talking about and needs to realize that I am nothing like her."
She lifted her right leg up along the tub's water handle and looked at it and as her back was submerged under the water she did not feel the pulse of pain that she normally did when her scales turned as they turned gently under the water because her attention was too focused on her feet. "It's not like ideas come to me straight out of the blue like they did to her." The colorless ribbon spooled itself out from under the water and the ink immediately began to run turning the water blue surrounding Ribbon as she motioned her toes back and forth and then left and right and looked between them. "Hell I'm not even like Micah, I don't see things in black and white. Lucky bastard got off easily and has no idea what a pain this is. How dare he cause me to be green with envy?" Her voice was starting to fill with jealously no doubt about it. The blue color that sat in the water slowly turned green, but the green liquid itself sat outside the ring of blue."
He paused the video as he looked at Gigi. "I never understood why Mom kept those cameras installed but Ribbon's power is not changing but I think in the water, the ink dissolves and as you can see it made a bit of a rainbow effect." He winked at her. "Sorry I just like to talk to you but what are your thoughts?"

He had laid a lot out on her and the video reveal had even caught her off guard but as she watched it with him it was nothing but useful information. "If you look at it you can see that your sister is clearly scared. I think she just uses the scales hurting her as a way of getting out of actually using them." It might not have been what he wanted to hear but she was always more on the side of truth that she liked these days. "I'm more interested in you though Micah because it's you who took an interest in me first. I know that the both of you have good things about you but you are more like your father than she will ever be. I see the meek hidings and the way your brain works especially around the periodic table and if I knew any other word I would consider it anything other than a natural gift but I don't so I have to say at least in his death your father left your mother something she can be proud of in you and your sister." Children were reminders of the past constantly. "I'm surprised she's stayed sane even years after his death." She chuckled because killing someone was always nice. Micah Nottingham

He listened and twinged a little when she spoke about his father because it was a subject that a lot seemed to want to address when he did not want to talk about it at all anymore. "Yeah I'm glad that she was able to rebound, all of us actually." He said as he looked at her with a smile and then towards Ribbon. "At least where it counts none the less." He then sighed. "There's video of me too but this isn't the time or the place to watch it." He liked to push her even when she did not like it because she was the closest thing that he would ever call a genius. He had seen her back up her facts and dispel theories in ways that others could only imagine and yet they were still close.
"What do you want to do? Pick my brain about the periodic table?" He laughed but it was more of a comforting laugh rather than an evil one. "I'm sure you already have something of mine lying around somewhere at least that's what my mother said when I was younger. I "spent too much time" at your house though Ribbon did the same but never got as much said to her." He could never hate his sister but sometimes here and there it was hard to tell where the favorite child ended and the one that had to be accepted began and ended.
"It's not quite a dance that I'm doing and it's not even anything really, I just..well to put it bluntly my senses are in tact for the first time in a long time and I am perceiving things extremely well. The fine lines that sit between each and every thing, such as right or wrong, left and right, etc seem so much clear almost like crystal at the moment."

She thought that senses were strange but it did not mean that she did not enjoy hearing him talking about it because it was in those moments and other little ones that he truly did remind her about his uncle. "That sounds like an amazing feeling, Micah." She knew of the senses because that was something that you learned at a very early age and school only helped to reinforce it but still the way that Micah spoke about it she felt like it was more of a passion for him than anything else. "Well I think that this is good for you." She was not sure if he wanted her opinion as his therapist or his friend but she knew that the advice would be the same either way. "Don't force yourself not to step into the unknown as far as this goes. I am not saying that you need to push yourself and see how it connects to your perception but I am saying that if it plays even the smallest of a part into how you can perceive things then you owe it to every person in your family to follow through with it because I think that to do anything less would constitute failure and I have never known anyone not even your lack of a taste father to be a failure when the correct amount of drive was placed in front of him." She would never pressure Micah though she had been known to pressure others he was different. "Do you understand what I am saying?" Micah Nottingham

He stared at her. "I do and I feel like I should tell you that I am not scared. It's not me that is holding me back because as much as I do strive for perfect unlike both of my parents I know that nothing will reach that. I was satisfied with what happened at the cold and that is why my focus has shifted more towards what is going on with you. I can do it all but Gigi everything that you are going through is too much and I want to work in helping you. Ribbon and I together should be able to nip whatever is wrong with you in the bud before your family starts sniffing around and makes it more uncomfortable than it already is."
He looked out towards the way of Ribbon. "Like with Ribbon, you helped her to start to figure out what was going on with her scales so in a way she owes you one and I don't want you to think that it is because we expect anything of you. You were always the mother I should have had and that explains our strange dynamic so as your pretend son let me help you with this. I hate when my golden ray of sunshine is so down in the dumps if you want the truth."

"You do realize that I have never asked for help with anything in my life right? Normally I would just be able to solve something like this if it was on someone else but it's like when it comes to me I have no idea how to go about it. I think that a lot of it is because I know if I screw this up then it is my life that is forever changed. I never truly cared about many people but I have always known how to love myself so I also think that is another reason that this is so difficult." They did have a unique relationship but every time that she looked at his hands she knew that they were not strong enough. They needed work as did his perception. "If you truly want to help save my intelligence before it either goes completely or rips me of what I consider a decent chance at you being able to do it then I need to know that when you look at me you can look past whatever you think of me and see the woman that needs saving. I am not going to say that she exists in big pieces but I do believe that enough of her is in there that you could help me find her and then we can work with this and save the best part of me, my big brain." She could not believe how comfortable she was becoming with him. "We could use an extra set of eyes though so will Ribbon come along willingly?" Micah Nottingham
