Colonel began to exit behind Avonlea, and paused when she did. He looked from her, to Alice's avatar, then smiled at the both of them. "I'll leave you two ladies alone. You can talk now if you'd like." He stepped around Avonlea and left the ALISE. Alice smiled at Avonlea. "Sure. Whenever you'd like. Really, wherever you'd like too, as long as you have access to the internet and a phone. Smartphone would be preferred but I can get into most phones, if you want. I'd be more than happy to talk." Alice looked off to the side and gave a sort of halfhearted chuckle. "Heh, I should probably warn you though, technically anything I see and hear is being recorded. That's just how my memory works. Nobody else gets into it though. It's mine, I don't let anyone else touch it." That last statement had an edge of conviction to it. That was what Alice was the most terrified of right now. People digging into her, pulling the code that made her up apart and digging into it for whatever memories she might have or secrets of sentience she might hold, and not caring who they hurt to do it. But Avonlea didn't need to know any of that. "So, do you want to talk now, or later, sometime else?" Avonlea Nym

Would Alice judge her for something she had no control over when it came to what powers someone got. That thought was running through her head when Colonel stopped in front of her and Alice, then dismissed himself and with a court nod, she watched him walk away from the duo and then at Alice's request, it was up to herself when this discussion would take place. Though, she questioned it for a moment, squinting just slightly as her eyes adjusted to the outside light of the room where it was once darkened. "Right now, is better." She knew if she waited, the whole situation might fall under the same situation as before. She wouldn't say a word and just keep it to herself. "If I wait, I don't think I'll be able to really have the courage to confide in anyone again." She looked, glancing around to make sure that Colonel had left, despite him being one of the members of Aegis that should know about her powers most. "You have enough trust in us and I have enough trust with you to share my insecurities. I..." Avonlea paused and rubbed the back of her neck, a motion she never used. "I wasn't completely honest with Aegis about my powers when I applied. I have hidden a dark past to my powers and you noticed it during the session. I can not only heal, but do that in reverse." She gauged Alice's facial expression or body movements for any sign of fear or uncertainty. The truth was revealed. Her pulse quickened. "I can bring harm to someone just by touching them, but I was relieved that I caused you no harm during the session." Alice

Alice listened to what Avonlea said. She hoped her face conveyed understanding and care. "Let's get more comfortable. Come on." The world inside the ALISE shifted, transforming from a dojo with padding and lights, to an open, sunny sky, and a green hill, atop which stood a mighty, gnarled oak tree. A simple swing, made up of two pieces of rope and a plank of wood, hung from one of it's branches. Alice changed too. Her workout clothes transformed into a yellow floral sundress, and her hair was let free of the ponytail. "Do you like it? It's something I've been working on, personally. I'm trying to replicate an area I've seen pictures of outside of town as best I can. It's... difficult. I have trouble making sure the branches on the tree are truly random and organic, I keep on getting them into specific patterns." Alice put a hand on the tree, looking up at it, before sitting down with her back against it, patting the ground next to her for Avonlea to join her. "I make this to just... think, sometimes, when nobody's using the ALISE. It's the most real I feel. The closest I can ever come to feeling the sun against my skin that I don't really have." She took a deep breath, appreciating the gentle, simulated breeze. "I don't really know what its like to have powers. I'm a computer program, I've been able to make computer systems do pretty much whatever I wanted them to from the moment I first became aware of myself. But I do know this: The fact that I can control computer systems isn't me. It's neither good, nor evil, but what I do with it is. The same thing goes for every kind of power that's out there, I think. You've seen Hydrocity? Nice guy, always a little wet? He's got water powers. So does this guy that keeps getting out of prison, BC Hyrdo. They both have the same powers, but one chooses to help, while the other chooses to harm." Alice turned and smiled apologetically. "I know it's not a perfect analogy, but I think it's kinda the same way. The bad guys need to be stopped, and sometimes they won't stop unless we hurt them. Your powers aren't evil. They're just specific. And honestly, it might be good if you used them more. I don't know what your skill is like with these reverse healing powers, but for the most part, the research Tim and I have found suggests that most powers are like a muscle. The more you exercise them and use them, the more precise and powerful they become." Alice pulled her knees up and leaned forward, hugging them. Her mood had changed quickly, and it was evident. "I also understand not wanting to think about what your powers can do, especially if something happened with them in the past. There are... things, in the past that I don't like to think about." Alice closed her eyes, trying to block the image of Arthur Glass' dying body from her system. The simulation around the two women flickered for just a moment, and if Avonlea had quick eyes she might have noticed it flicker to the alley outside Aegis in the rain, puddles tinged with crimson. "Sorry. I got distracted. What I'm trying to say is, your powers are yours, not the other way around. You control them, they don't control you. I understand if you don't want to use those powers right now, and that's fine. But if you ever want to practice on someone you won't actually hurt, I can have Tim get the sensor suite ready and I can integrate these abilities into the system." Avonlea Nym
