Heroes are everywhere, but the city of Astaria, Oregon is a hotspot. It's home to the Aegis, a group of heroes dedicated to protecting the world from superpowered threats. Meanwhile, the sinister Cabal lurks in the shadows, plotting something known only to them. Everyone rises; heroes to defend and protect, villains to oppress and terrorize, and all to their destiny.

Mineral deposits around Astaria were once plentiful, but have since been largely depleted. This has left several wide open stone pits that many use for testing their strength and powers, to set off fireworks and other explosives safely, and just generally to have a safe, isolated place to try more dangerous things.
