It was true that she was a bit nervous but still she was going to do all she could to remove the fear Ribbom seemed to have when it came to water. She honestly had found it ironic that one twin seemed to love water while the other hated it but then again that was also simple twin things two beings but complete opposites in just about everything. None the less she had texted Ribbon to meet her down by the boats so they could sail off. It was a course that had no water that was deep enough to drown them or cause them to get lost but enough to dip in because that was always the true beginning of conquering a fear. She pushed her hair back up into a high ponytail and sat waiting for she loved water and found it absolutely refreshing plus her normal purple skin against the reflects of the water were a rare sight as she looked down at the device on her arm and finally took it off. The purple skin quickly covered her and her tail swished as she turned so that her tail could hit the water and turned her head down so she could see the ripples. Her own reflection still scared her at times because while she was comfortable she also had one thing bothering her. How had it once again seemed her and Ribbon had a common insecurity? They were amazing and generally bad ass in their own right but just like her purple skin and insecurities, it seemed Ribbon also had the issue of realizing that it was all just only skin deep. It was only one thing in a well as Micah had told her a simple mirage of things that lead to the beauty and wonder of both of them. She quickly shook her head to not let her thoughts take over as she put her feet in the water right next to the boat and began to spin in circles as she waited on Ribbon. Ribbon Harmony

Nope. Ribbon knew she had agreed to go sailing but just the thoughts of agreeing had kept her out the night before so she had booked an international flight out headed straight to Astaria, Oregon and what was even worse she had left her hotel room bags in hand. Even though she knew it was wrong and deceitful she could not help it, she was selfish to the core she was discovering. Sleeping in the airport lounge was not comfortable either and she had awoken with lower back pain as she was now still straddled across two chairs in a twisted position. She needed out of this position as soon as possible as she heard her flight being called and ready to be boarded. Normally she was not an emotional person much but the slight trail of tears had already started down her face as she slowly put her feet down and stood up, grabbing her bags. She was so damn conflicted about just leaving Mila here but Mila was an adult and could find her way to Oregon. "It's okay Ribbon, you just get on this flight and when Mila shows up in Oregon everything will be okay because she knows that you would rather walk with a cactus implanted in your thigh than to ever get near water for needs other than showering." Still it made her a liar and she felt so anxious about how their next meeting would go if she did not show up. "She's going to yell at me and she might hit me with a few brushes but a few hits across the face with soft bristles isn't too bad of a consequence," she said as she wiped her tears away. "I mean the girl only came a whole lot of miles to find you that's normal," she said as more water ran down her face as she made her way to show her ticket. She knew she looked like someone who was going through a lot especially as she went to go speak. "This is so out of the blue but," her sentence was cut off by the ribbon unraveling itself and dropping on the ground which caught her attention for a second. "Uhm," she said as she looked at the employee again. "Hold that thought I will be right back," she said as she stepped out of line and went to go pick up the blue colored ribbon but her foot got there before her hand and kicked it out of her distance which only caused her to topple over and go rolling into the nearest corner of the airport as the ribbon landed on her and she sighed as her bags went flying everywhere as well. She felt as the ribbon wrapped itself around her arms and she slowly got up. She held her head down as she grabbed her bags and went to go make her way back to the counter but was stuck as her back pain returned with a bit of a heating sizzle going through her back. "No, no," she said as more tears still fell but she still slowly walked and exited out because it obviously was not meant for her to leave here just yet. She straightened her bags up evenly on her shoulders to help ease the pain as she tried to remember just where Mila had said to meet her. "I am in so much pain," she said as she turned the corner and ran directly into a flash mob. "Fuck no," she said as someone grabbed her and expected her to dance. "No," she said as she tried to make her way through the crowd of people but they simply rushed her and would not let her pass so she had no choice but to throw her hands up and shuffle through the dance as she felt her pain ease up a little bit as she escaped the crowd but almost got hit by a vehicle as she heard the horn and quickly threw her ribbon up in the air and watched it loop around a cable and she quickly pulled herself up as her bags fell splat down into the street. "Fuck it' it's just clothes," she said as she hung now on her ribbon and forced herself across as she finally looked down in a space space on the street and slid down and pulled the ribbon down. After about two hours, she finally showed up and seen Mila sitting there. The real Mila, purple and awkward and it only flushed her emotions more as she literally fell down right where she was and began to cry rather loudly. She needed to learn to pull it together but the guilt that ran over her as she had honestly was just going to get on that flight because she was scared was too much of a thought to deal with right now. She wiped her tears but still sob loudly as she made her way over to Mila. "Growth hurts," she said as she looked at the boat. "I almost got on a plane and then I did not." That was as much as she was going to address it. "I'm ready when you are the tears are just flowing today don't mind them." Mila Richards

Mila was at peace waiting when after a little bit she had figured that Ribbon was not going to show up. It was fine but she still stayed because she had a few days left before she could go back but she was a little upset because it was the same cycle with them. Her putting everything into it and Ribbon constantly running so she was surprised and then shocked when Ribbon actually came. Even more so she was at a bit of a stopping point as she heard the crying. "I mean yes it does" she said as her words came out shaky because she had no idea how to handle this. The ribbon that was out and all over the place did not help her either as she noticed the blue color and she shook her head. "Ribbon," she said as she looked at her. "I need you to get all of this together" she said as she began to pick it up and easily handed it over to Ribbon. "That belongs to you so do something with it, anything at this point." She had thought that sailing would be easy and relaxing but here she was having to deal with a very anxious and emotional Ribbon and she had not thought that far ahead as she took the ribbon back and looked at it. "You know what you just cry and I will fix this." She began to wrap it around her body from shoulder to waist and circled it around in the same pattern and still spoke. "If we sail you won't get off the boat so we're going straight in because you are right growth hurts and stings but it's time to deal with it." She then went and stood in front of her and spoke. "Get on my back" she said. "If you don't trust me then you need to trust this material. It's literally a part of you and if you don't start scaling it as you should then we're never leaving here. I don't think you really want to live your life this far away from your twin do you?" Ribbon Harmony

Ribbon was such a blob of mess and tears and ribbons that she just stayed there quietly at first. If she never moved again she would be okay with that cause for the moment at least it was pretty warm. "I'm trying to do something with it," she sobbed out. "I mean I'm not trying very hard but a little bit." She was not trying at all not because she could not but because she got distracted by all the color. She turned so she could watch Mila and she wondered what the hell she was doing as she watched her wrap the ribbon on her body. "I will get off the boat just not today. Look I showed up that is a big step for me," she said as she wiped her tears and felt like they were finally stopping at least for a little while. "I think that we can put it off a little longer I mean for eternity if you want to know the truth." She feared it was going to throw her into an emotional wheel of envious, anxiety and anger and she was not strong enough to deal with that currently. She stared up at Mila and shook her head. "No thanks," she said quietly. "I mean I could because you very well could carry me but I just, I just," she shrugged. "You know what fine." She thought that this was a very bad idea as she got and went behind Mila. She stretched her arms out and went to go get on her back when she stopped and started to stretch. "Give me one second, I don't want my scales to lock up while I am on your back." She did her final stretch and got up on Mila's back. "So far so good," she said as she made sure to keep her hands on Mila's waist. "This isn't so bad, okay go forward I'm ready to conquer the water." Ribbon took a second to straighten her back up a little so not to have as much weight on Mila's back when she felt that tingle again and let out a yelp almost as if she was a puppy being corrected and her tears flowed again as she spoke. "Good news I'm still on your back, bad news scales locked up and I'm crying again." She buried her face full of tears into Mila's shoulder and continued to sob as her grip around Mila's waist tightened and she spoke in between her sobs. "I'm not good with pain!" she muffled out and squeezed Mila tighter. "Thank you for carrying me especially since I feel like such a baby right now." Her twin was a pain in the soul. "I mean I guess not though he gets on my nerves I mean so much so I could just squeeze his head off." She said as she let out another scream of pain and her scales loosened up but her actual weight pushed her against Mila and the force caused them to go rolling. "No, no!" she screamed as they rolled into the water and she splashed into the very edge and the water hit her face. She lay there expecting something worse than the pain that she was already in but as the water splashed on her it seemed to actually help her pain just a tiny amount. "I need to find an equal between the two," she said as she rolled herself just a little more out into the water at least this way her tears could not be seen. "Come on in the water's fine," she said as she turned so that she could see Mila. Mila Richards

"I don't believe you" she said. She knew Ribbon and this was not her trying this was everything but that but she knew as she said it that meant that she had to keep her tone nice. "I think that you are only giving a little because you know if you give every thing that one day it will all still fall and be for nothing but with that kind of thinking you will never enjoy the moment and thinking like that is holding you back." Ribbon could give that crap to someone else as the next thing that Mila knew she could barely hear Ribbon. "Wow quiet for once must be taking that from your brother," she said as she shook her head. She was about to give up when she felt Ribbon on her back. She started to speak when she felt Ribbon choking her. She did not have to tell her to let go as she felt Ribbon's weight pushed against her and she fell into the water, rolling towards the boat's edge. As she slowly turned her head she sighed. "You went too big," she said as she honestly wanted to do nothing but touch dry land but she was going to see Ribbon through this. "Start small and work from there, I think that is how it would work best." The water crashed against her skin and she was glad that it did. "At least the water is nice even if we are not using it how I thought." It was okay as she sat up and squeezed out her hair and got back up on her feet and looked down at them. Her tail lifted up almost like she had a good idea as she looked at Ribbon and made her way over and got down and began to look at Ribbon's feet and she took a second and let her tail wrap around itself around Ribbon's feet and she spoke. "I need to bend you back and it's going to hurt." Ribbon Harmony

Ribbon took a second to just remain relaxed as she heard Mila but she did roll her eyes because of course she did not. "About what I figured," she said as she looked at her. "Not that you're wrong," she said because it was becoming easier to admit things, admit everything as far as she was concerned. "I'm doing my absolute best though because the problem is not the scales or the ribbons but the handle on them. If I don't remain in some sort of control then it will wrap itself around me so much that it will feel like I am drowning and no one wants that." Damn she had a lot of anger and she did not think that she had bottled up as much of it as she had but maybe it was also just being around Mila and all the confusion that brought her way none the less she did not want to fight, it was the last thing that she wanted to do so she quickly apologized. "Sorry, going through an emotional flush at the moment." It was more like an emotional wash out but who was to pick bones right now. She shook her head at the use of the word flush as she heard Mila bring up Micah. "Ugh please not him again," she said. "It's just a thing we do when we need to think I mean we are twins he's the prettier one I'm the better one just more lazy." It sounded cocky but it was one hundred percent true. Micah shifted too much through what he wanted to do while she knew what she wanted to do she just hardly ever moved for she was literal stasis most the time. She nodded. "Okay too big need smaller," she said as she thought as the water still touched her. She went to go speak when she noticed Mila's tail and watched as it came to her feet. "So weird," she said as she thought about it. She reached carefully behind her back and began to loop the loose ribbon back around her scales as she carefully stood up doing her best to make sure that she did not step on Mila's tail once she had the ribbon tucked away safely. "Alright," she said as she did her best to loosen up. "Bend me," she said as she had no idea what to do with her hands so she simply stood still. "First time I haven't known what to do with my hands." Mila Richards

"As long as you are doing your best that is all that anyone can ask of you. I mean I do not even ask that of you and look how good we are." She knew that they were deflecting but for now it worked better until they got the whole control thing of this water because it had to come first. Neither one of them was going to be able to move forward until they washed over the wave. She watched Ribbon's emotions and took a second to let it flow because that was what the water had reminded her of. Even if you did not know how sometimes you had to let it wash over you and go from there. "He is always going to be your brother. You are different and have different paths in life but family is still family. I think if you accept that then you will be alright." Everything took a lot to get going but this was a big step. "My tail is the equal of your scales. When we were both born it's the world's way of showing us we have things no one else does so stop talking about it." She stepped forward and began to bend Ribbon. "If I bend you too far back just let me know," she said as she lifted her feet up so that Ribbon was up in the air a little bit now. "Let me know if you want me to lift my feet higher." Ribbon Harmony

It honestly gave Ribbon a headache at how it always seemed like Mila could be so positive. It was down right annoying at times but right now it was exactly what she needed to hear as she just let her rant and get it out of her system because sometimes you just had to and Mila had done her that same favor. None the less she did not actually think that she would go through with actually bending her back but here she was feeling like a pretzel as she thought about what Mila had said. "Yeah I guess you are right it's just you fit them in better and at the end of the day you can hide yours for as long as you want but it does not mean that you can not relate to everything I have went through over the years." As strange as it looked the truth was that it was so relaxing having someone else on her scales even if was by feet, just wait until she told Micah. "Alright, lift me higher and let's see what happens." It was scary but she still was going to be more open to things that happened from here on out, she needed to be. Mila Richards

She was still trying to figure out how to go about it as she slowly lifted her feet up and was thus in the process raising Ribbom up too. It was not hard to be careful but it was hard to not be curious. She still remained still for a few seconds as she took in a breath and then carefully slid herself down enough just to feel the water under a little more because she wanted to make sure that there was enough that it might make a splash and still be careful. She carefully began to bicycle her legs under Ribbon doing her best to make sure not to smack the bottom of her feet up against the scales because they had always scared her but she knew that they scared Ribbon more. They had never truly spoke about if they could shatter or break something she felt that someone would overlook simply because how how they were placed in the skin but she was still being careful as she began to move her legs faster. "Alright time to toss you up, sure you got everything in position as it needs to be?" She only hoped that she would not get pulled up into the air during the process as well. Ribbon Harmony

Heights were something that she had never taken the time to know if she disliked or not at least in a lot of detail. There had been times when she would be hanging around with the use of her ribbons that she did feel a good shiver go up her spine but she did not know if that was from the height that she hung or the simple fact she always seemed amazed at how little she fell, either way she was going to do her best to remain calm now and take in the moment. "Yeah I'm ready," she said. The sounds of the waves starting to crash against it's own safe environment made her feel good. Maybe the key was relaxation she truly had no idea but right now all she knew was that nothing hurt and nothing felt like it needed an explanation in the moment it for the first time in years felt more natural and organic than anything else and that made her feel better. "I will be fine it is not like it will be the first time I was tossed in the air." Her parents had did it all the time with her as a baby once she was old enough. It was a sad and fond memory all in one. Mila Richards
